Yes you can.

It just depends on the "reason" why he is your favourite player.

He may have seen a photo of him and find him very attractive.;)

:D

That would also explain Nandrolone Stam and his obsession with Diego Forlan.

Yeah I've always been a massive fan of his and I'm glad to see that the majority of Australians are coming round. The misguided and ill-informed witch-hunt against him that was carried out by the mainstream Aussie media and continued on by 'fans' who can't think for themselves a few years ago was sickening...

Or it could just be that people have formed their own opinions based on the evidence at hand.

"Harry doesn't want to play for Australia whinge whinge ****ing whinge" Bollocks.

His own words and actions are the sole reason why people think this is his position.

Media just want someone to bash - remember when Lleyton Hewitt was coming through the ranks and the media and some of the mindless public slaughtered him for his "attitude" and "behaviour"? Then he becomes world no. 1, wins the US Open, Wimbledon and a host of crunch Davis Cup ties and he's suddenly "our Lleyton".

Lleyton is still a tw@t IMO. ;)

His injury record in the week prior to the majority of Australian friendlies.

His "I'll play for Australia so long as it is in a meaningful match" comments.

Need I go on?

We all know that the picking and choosing of which games to come back and play in started with the laughable way Soccer Australia handled the national team's schedule in 1999 and turned the Socceroos into a circus.

In 5 pathetic months there was the ridiculous "FIFA All Stars" debacle - which Harry turned up for and copped a career-threatening injury for in the process... Then there was the Manchester United shambles where Simon Colosimo's knee exploded thanks to Andy Cole... then finally there was the shameful Brazil episode where the samba boys sent their kids and the whole series was relegated to B-international status, Ned Zelic walked out of the team vowing never to return, and Kewell rightly refused to return and play in it.

Needless to say because of these three ridiculous episodes, many national team members were embarrassed and refused to play in such poorly planned fiascos in which the players and team were treated as meat by their federation and channel 7.

In regards to Kewell's willingness to play for Australia on other occasions... Is that why he answered Eddie Thompson's call to make his debut for Australia in Chile (24/06/96) of all places as a leftback when England were sniffing around him?

(12/06/99) Is that why he played in the aforementioned debacle known as the FIFA World XI... I mean FIFA World Stars... I mean FIFA All-Stars match in Sydney when he was axed down from behind by Rigobert Song and that's when all his achilles tendon trouble started? Was that a meaningful game?

Is that why he limped around for a half before being substituted vs Hungary (23/02/00) because he wanted to prove the doubters wrong despite coming into the game with more achilles trouble?

He has had genuine injury trouble - most notably his achilles tendon which almost ended his career - yet he still shows up more often than not to play for Australia, whether the games are competitive, friendlies or exhibitions and had represented Oz at U17 (1995) and U20 (1997) level before becoming and while a full Socceroo.

So to cut a long story short, yes I think you should go on, because all you've spouted so far is the same ill-informed garbage that the mainstream media used against him before they did a sickening about-face and he became their darling.

Please do...

Andriy...The Mighty Sheva!

Closeley seconded by Maldini and Gatusso. (AC Milan)

My favourite at world level would have to be Zidane, Zola and Denilson (the fancy footwork, superb)!

What in my post is ill informed media diatribe?

He does have a poor record, particularly when it comes to friendy matches. On more than one occasion he disastrously got injured the last Leeds match before he was due to fly out, before miraculously recovering in time for Leeds next match. I'll provide details for you if you would like.

He also did make the statement that he was committed to playing for Australia ... BUT. I will endeavour to find the full quote for you if you would like.

Don't be so patronising as to assume that anyone with a differing point of view than your own is unable to make a judgement on a person without being unduly influenced by the media. My post was based on what I have seen and heard. Nothing else.

Harry Kewell - Liverpool/Socceroos

Did you not hear? He's been transferred to the New York/New Jersey Metrostars in the MLS.

Harry Kewell - will take Australia to a World Cup
John Arne Riise - been my favourite from the moment he started at Anfield, and he is a left back
Craig Moore - Should be our captain.
Marco Bresciano - Marcellin boy
Danny Tiatto - Left back, and an animal
Stan Lazaridis - Left sided, done well for the Aussies
Ian Rush - legend
Michael Owen - as above
Milan Baros - the kid can play

Other clubs:
Zidane - genius
Le Tissier - Champion, and loyal.
Taibi - Saved Atalanta from relegation AND was crap for United. :p

I've always been fond of Stan for his 'i'm just a normal bloke' personality and way he goes about things, but in regards to what he actually produces on the field?...

His final ball is more often than not appalling, and despite scoring that 1000-yard screamer for the Hammers against us at SJP five or so years back, would you believe he's never scored in all his 46 Socceroo caps?

For a tricky winger with a decent left foot that's quite disappointing.
