I'd like to see player's stat efficiency. This might clear up the whole "I got 42 possessions 2 goals and no votes" saga that constantly bombards Mobbenfuhrer Medal night.

Clarkey, the problem with that is, then everybody would know how they went for B&F votes. It'd render the B&F obsolete.

The whole shebang is in the program, but omitted from what is presented to you, the spectator.

There's a whole file created with every game that denotes each players' voting score (from 0 to 100% of the max scorer). Obviously, though, this stat page is not published.

Same with the actual calculations. If you knew the actual calculations, you could also work out whether you would have got votes.

While I know its frustrating for people to expect votes for a high-DT game and get nothing, the alternative would be akin to the umpires of the AFL holding a press release and announcing the Brownlow votes for the round.

No-one would turn up at Brownlow night!

What I can tell you, though, is :
In Dreamteam calcs, you get a nice big score for a goal, and a little score for a behind.
In voting, you get a score for a goal, increasing nice big scores if your goal tally mounts, and you get punished if you kick a behind.

With kicks, if they are good kicks, you get points, ok kicks, slight points, nothing much. bad kicks, you lose points. In Dreamteam, every kick gets you points.

In dreamteam, if you tackle, you get points. In Qooty votes, if you tackle you get points. But if you get tackled, you lose points.

That's a hint at some of them, just to show how it will never seem like a copy of Dreamteam scores.

Can you put it down so when someone kicks an unbelievable awesome goal the commentary reads, "And he's done a boncer34! Amazing!"
boncer now that you will be simming the matches, you can add this yourself :D just use the Add Commentary function :)

Well with option 1 (live update function), it send a website to an ftp-receiving webspace of your choice, I use the qooty website for mine : http://www.footypedia.com/qooty/QTYLIVE.HTM <-- its in throes of revamping so it'll work for other users. It uses MY shoutbox no matter who is using it / uploading it ... which is nice and secure :eek:

option 2 (make website), its a simple, quite simple indeed, website maker from the league data. if you have configured your league, then you can choose that option.

I presume you mean during the commentary? That would be really cool. A bit early in the morning for me to get my head around whether that's possible, and if so, easy or difficult, but that would be grouse!

Do you remember a few years ago ch. ten and seven i think had this Hot and Cold stat that came up?

Like if someone had 6,8,10,12 disposals in the quarter they would be "running hot" and if a player had none they would be "gone missing" or something to that effect.

interesting to know if it could be done.

Ohhhh... voice dubbovers. Steal the SNES AFL 91 "Out. On. The. Full" and add "Gone. Missing. Number. 25" or "Running. Hot. Number. 17" or something to the effect. :p

That one would pretty certainly be too difficult ... at least for a while.

Hmm, actually, maybe it wouldn't. The game itself kind of does that, to an extent.

There is a view function (people using the sim can check it out), that shows whether a player is looking the goods during play.

Press spacebar while the match is underway. Press it again can't remember if its two or three times) until the arrows appear.

I might be able to use that data.

Its not a glitch. It reflects what happens in normal footy matches. Can't speak for the crap they play at AFL level the last dozen years, though.

Add ump names? Depends. Dynamically would be possible but tough, and require updating regularly. Statically, though, yeah, just add them to the commentary files.

Add comments : Just use the Comments Menu > Add to add your own comments.
(alternatively, you can open the comment files, add your own, just copy the right boxes so the right players get used, and always remember to alter the number at the top, if the number of comments gets changed)
