Fed Square Activities

Just got back from some activities at Fed Square this morning.

They have a number of really good activities for the kids this week, including handball, goal kicking, marking and a few other bits and pieces, definately worth getting down to if you are in Melb..

Today - my eldest boy was lucky enough to be one of the kids who was selected to do a number of activities with a number of nominated Rising Stars from this year...

All the guys there were terrific, but a special mention has to go to Andy Otten, who was absolutely fantastic..
Both my boys loved seeing him and singing the theme song to him...

But having now been to the Melbourne members day and the activities here, I have to say the club is really building not only a good stong list on the field, but an amazing group of guys off it as well.. The way they treat the kids is amazing and they should all be commended for it.

For anyone in Melbourne Saturday I strongly recommend Fed Square to watch the game. Took my 7 year old last year and there was an area on the left which was penned off by Coke Zero. We sat there all arvo and watched the game on the big screen. Got loads of freebies like a soft footy, 2 padded drink coolers + several cans of the sponsors product and as many pies as I could grab off the bird as she walked down the aisle at HT .

Was able to sit mostly shaded and the atmosphere was tops as well.

We just got back from Melbourne and my little bloke went to "Game on" in the Melbourne Sport Museum at the MCG and had a handball competition with Peter Daicos! Of course he had no idea and was quite "disgusted" that it was a Collingwood great but we tried to convince him that legends of the game are still legends no matter the Club!

The weather had been relatively kind to us for the last week (was good on Friday for the footy, not so on Saturday) but it turned quite nasty this morning. They are anticipating that for the GF which would be a shame.
