Hey guys, i was surprised i didn't see a thread about fev seeing has he has been killing it in the VFL of late kicking 33 goals in only 5 games which is almost 7 goals per game! It's been said we are interested in landing a big fish, could it be him? I mean dawes hasnt signed yet and yes i know he has said he plans to sign but i wouldn't be suprised if we do make a pitch for him, Eddie did try to bring him to the pies on the last day of the trade week when he left blues...


Thoughts?

Absolutely no chance whatsoever that Fev will be playing with us next year. That is not a fact but only my opinion. It just does not make sense in terms of our position and the fact that we have so few players to turnover.

We have Dawes and Cloke and enough other trouble makers.

No, doesn't matter how good the guy is (and he is very very good) just no, 2 clubs didn't sack him for kicks, cost the lions big time and is a born loser.

No way he will ever play senior football again, anywhere, let alone at a top 4 or premiership contending club likes ours.

I can see a bottom feeder club picking him up, Doggies, North, Tigers maybe, dees could even have a swing.

Pretty much all that needs to be said.

+ Fevola isn't best 22 relevant.

Dawes is better.

St Kilda can take a chance on him. Maybe he is what they need.

But not an appropriate fit for Collingwood.
 
I would love to see Fev at the pies. Those of you who say he isn't best 22 have very short memories!

But saying that I really can't see it happening. I do think he will be picked up, just not by us.

Imagine a Hawks outfit with buddy and fev in their forward line! :eek:
 
No chance in hell. Would be the worst decision ever to add poison to a premiership favorite team... who cares about his VFL form? Every club asked has said absolutly not (including GWS)

Last 5 weeks have been good.

Doesn't fit in our structure because Dawes + Cloke are our forwards.

Fevola at his best is obviously the superior talent, but Dawes is a better forward for us because of the way he works with Cloke to make him better.

For what its worth I think Fev is a better forward then Dawes (taking nothing away from Dawes), but your right in saying he wouldn't fit our current structure at all, which is why I doubt we will pick him up. But if he was on our list we would find a way to play him every week.

Fev has always been one of my favourite players to watch outside of Collingwood, would love to see him in the black and white for a couple of season.

If u read up ull realize every club who are speculated to be interested in him have said NO.

and he seriously is not in our best 22 hasnt been senior football in so long and NOWHERE near afl match fitness

.. oh and imagine a hawks outfit with buddy and ROUGHHEAD in their forward line :eek:. Add in the fact roughheads got way more years of football, oh and wont destroy the club... yea id prob go for roughhead

We definitely need more selfish unfit trouble makers with alcohol problems, it is one of the few things our team is lacking.

those who say he would not be in our best 22 are very very biased. Lets be honest, on the field he would be one of the best FF, off the field, his been working on things. We could work with dawes, cloke and fev in our team anyways with dawes becoming our new 'Leroooy Brown'..

The bloke's a goose, the brownlow thing wasn't an isolated incident, it was the last straw, the guy kicked a goal one day and refused to give his team mate (Cam Cloke) a high 5, made him look like an imbecile, sooks on the field when things don't go his way, doesn't chase, abuses team mates, some team player, no thank you!!, was also an allegation he was bullying some of the young blokes at Brisbane.
 
I would like him at the Pies, I have always liked Fev, only Carlton bloke I didnt hate.

The guy has worked so hard to get where he is now, his fixed his off field troubles? Do you think he is willing to stuff that up?! His working on things with his wife and kids, credit where credit is due, i mean when tazza left all u guys got on his back about how much of an idiot he was? Now that his back half of the guys here have suddenly jumped back on the band wagon?! Fev would be easily in our top 10. Pure and simple, a great footballer who looks like he has begun to mature.
