Alright I'm done with Year 12 English as of this week
. However two of the texts we studied this year annoyed me to no end due to seemingly important lines that no amount of googling will tell me what they mean! The two are
"thigh man" - Dead Poets Society
In the Year book this is one of John Keating's accomplishments.
WTF is a "thigh man" any way?
"THe squat pen" - Digging
In Seaumus Heaney's poem digging he continually refers to the squat pen. What the hell is a squat pen?
Anyone know the answers to these or have any similar literary questions?
