CARLTON
B: Kade Simpson, Michael Jamison, Bret Thornton
HB:
Heath Scotland, Jarrad Waite, Jordan Bannister
C:
Shaun Grigg, Chris Judd, Nick Stevens
HF:
Brad Fisher, Matthew Kreuzer, Bryce Gibbs
F:
Eddie Betts, Brendan Fevola, Andrew Carrazzo
Foll:
Cameron Cloke, Richard Hadley, Marc Murphy
I/C:
Paul Bower, Setanta O’hAilpin, Darren Pfeiffer, Jordan Russell
EMG: Adam Bentick, Steven Browne, Shaun Hampson

In:
Grigg, O’hAilpin
Out:
Ryan Houlihan (hip), Shaun Hampson

It looks at this stage as if Russel will be getting another game, to the dismay of many posters on this board. But, the only game I've seen Russel do anything was against Collingwood last year IIRC, playing off a HFF.
He was probably saved by Houlihan's withdrawal I would have thought...

Happy to see Grigg in their, Steven Browne is unlucky I feel.

That's a bit rough, his OTHER good effort was (probably his best) in the victory against Port. :p;)

Very disappointed Browne won't debut as our structure so desperately needs what he can provide.

I hate it how the coaching staff is playing Simpson in the back pocket. I think this will become a big mistake and he will be put back into the midfield almost instantly hopefully lol. And i hate it how they put Hadley infront of Bentick. I think Bentick is much better and tougher at getting the ball and i dont understand why they are putting Hadley on ball instead of Carrazzo. Hopefully they will change this line-up on the day. And i think O'Hailpin should be played at full back all year and make it his permanent position.

Where you at the game last week mate? Hadley had 11 contested possessions and 10 tackles (yes 10!). Pay attention

Gee Browne must be getting close to debuting for Carlton. I wonder if the club decided not to put him out on such a big stage against Collingwood tomorrow.

If so that shows a big difference between us and the Pies. Malthouse said just this week that he had no problem playing kids like Nathan Brown on the big stage - says its good for their development and that they can handle it. Whilst the Pies have no fears blooding their kids, we might. Somehow, Collingwood just continue to fast-track their kids' development

So.......ummmm.......errrrrr.......have you managed to watch us at all this year?

They just name players in any position they want.

The actual naming of the team has no bearing on anything these days, the bench wont be the same at the start of the match as it is named now, neither will be the positions.

Kade Simpson wont start in the back pocket, they just put him there to fit him in, with the other midfielders taking his position, Houlihan normally gets named in the back pocket, and with Houlihan out, it just a position that needed to be filled on the team sheet, so Simmo got named there,.

Was always going to happen with Hadley, he'd played hardly any football (if any at all) in the past two years, to expect him to come straight into the team and be effective was silly.

He worked his way through the pre-season and now is playing well, he's what we needed and missed last season, a tough in and under player willing to get the ball and lay tackles, he'll be a very important player for us.

Can we make a sticky out of that!
