Since it's almost certain we're gonna make the finals, the aspect I'm most interested in is to see how the players that survived our worst period in history come up come finals time. It's especially interesting to see how these player, that made it through the Pagan era, draft penalties, bankruptcy and our first few wooden spoons ever, dig deep to come out and KICK ARSE!

But these are the players I'm most curious about:

HOULIHAN : silky skills, but a handbag, will his true colours come out in the finals and he becomes an effective forward and delivery service to...

FEVOLA: I'm expecting fireworks from the Fev. Hopefully he doesn't have a hissy fit and rises to the occasion of finals footy.

THORNTON - survived being a defender in one of the worst teams of this decade. I expect him to be hungry for success.

STEVENS - he came to Carlton instead of the Filth, and was our best player in our worst time. He deserves a good run, but also has to show the club that our investment in him was worthwhile, despite the fact he's turning into the new Larnce...

CARROTS - whilst he has matured and gets plenty of the ball it will be interesting to see what role he plays come finals time...

SIMMO - Simmo really needs to make a big impact. I regard him as one of our most valuable players, but it will be interesting to see how he imposes himself on the finals games.

SETANTA - who knows? Would be fantastic to see him go sick and kick a bag in a final! It's totally virgin territory for him, hopefully he doesn't get stage fright!

WALKER - I'm not expecting him to set the world on fire, since he is still evolving post injury

EDDIE - well, anything could happen here, and in many way he could be our barometer during out finals campaign.

Despite having the Juddinator as our tank, we all know he will fire up, but seriously its the above guys and the experience they will get from finals footy that will dictate our success and ability to really take the 'next step'...

yeah but the draft picks and bower, grigg etc were more at the end of Pagan's era, not really during the very harsh time (sure there was a spoon in 2006..but..)

..Micky Martyn!

..I was impressed with all the Pagan era boys except Houlda, who still stuffs up...

T-Bird was terrific, Fev excellent, Russell, solid, Simmo solid, Carrots workmanlike, Eddie business as usual, Setanata didn't really get much but made some worthy contributions towards the end, Stevo interestingly got better as he went along despite his fatness, and Walker was very impressive.
