Has anyone listened to Finey tonight?
Firstly, he was the first person in the media to bring up the crowd being 75/25 in our favor against Richmond. That is a huge point of discussion given our historic small match day attendances. Great sign of where the club is heading.

And secondly, he had Leigh Tudor as a guest. Unfortunately I couldn't catch all of it, but one thing I did hear was Tudor's admiration of Brad's half time speech. He said it was composed yet very powerful, that he himself felt like putting a jumper on and being part of it. Coming from a bloke who has worked under some pretty handy coaches, this is a serious praise to take note of.

I went for a walk tonight and half way home I thought, I am going to use the Telstra Box to gather up the 3rd Q and watch it all having not watched it on Tv ....whatever BS said it was an awesome Q....

Finey is bloody legend. His final line about Caroline Wilson and Patrick Smith alone deserves him a life membership at North.

Interesting comments regarding the half time speech.

A lot on here thought Brad incapable of giving a spray, But if he didn't give a spray and still encouraged them to a quarter like that? Ill take that every time.

Thanks for posting the interview mate. Like you I only caught the very end of it just after 7pm and I was about to ask if anyone here heard what was said. We're 11 real games into the Tudor/Bon era and there were bound to be hiccups along the way. I look forward to giving this a listen.
 
Bless Finey, pushing membership, knows the players - even that he was at the game with his daughter when North isn't his team. Good to hear from Leigh, and enjoyed lots of what they discussed.

His daughter is a Richmond supporter. He was seating in Richmond cheer squad. He mentioned this just before Tudor came on air. But that doesn't change the fact he is a legend.

I didn't know or hear that but the point stands - he might be a "neutral" but he isn't really, he invests interest and energy in other teams including ours.

Richmond and St Kilda, that family must love disappointment.

As for the interview, Tudor seems to be well onboard with what Brad is try to do.

My only fear with him is that we would lose him to a senior role.

I was at a function on Monday with a couple of North players and they said that he didn't give them a spray.
 
It was great how Tudor said Brad took all the coaches before the half time break and said "we want the boys to be composed, so all if us have to be composed when we talk to them". If you trust the players and what you've taught them, that is brilliant - and it's completely sustainable. If you jumper punch your players and aim to get them winning on emotion, it's a short term fix at best. You can't keep going back to that well and your players don't build belief in what they can do without it.

still laughing at the jumper punch. that's some funny shit. I think it was the difference tbh. Imagine playing with a bruised sternum on a cold winters night. Collingwood supply some heated eucalyptus breath shit when they play nights...the tiges, they jumper punch. haha classic.
