You're in the minority but so long as you believe you are rights that's ok

Everyone else in the gaming world loved it

It's not about what you do .....it's about the relationship with Delilah and the immersion of the characters into the environment

Not every game is about what you do

If that's the case better off watching a movie.

I get people will say that, however you control enough to make it feel like a game

Yes it's more about the narrative between characters and thier relationship. I think younger gamers may not like it as much ....that's a generalisation I know.

The story itself moved me ....I imagined what it would be like for him. But I do understand how this won't be everyone's cup of tea. That's ok. I'm just glad we have something different to experience and enjoy

Just finished it up then.

Overall I enjoyed the game and experience. Definitely not what I initially expected going into the game, didn't expect the feels factor to be as high as it was.

And while I get the disappointment with how the climax of the game built up, it was probably for the best with where it went than going down some other path that wasn't consistent with the previous build up before the story path branching initially anyway.

So yeah, overall happy with the game. Worth the money imo.

A patch was released for this a couple of days ago. Haven't played it since but here is the list of fixes.

  • Draw distance and shadow render distance have been improved, which should remove significant texture popping.
  • Streaming loading and unloading has been significantly adjusted with extra safeties so you should no longer see loading happen right in front of you.
  • We got Unity to fix a very rare hang that could occur when loading and unloading scenes.
  • Many instances of unstable framerate have been improved.
  • Auto-saves are now far less frequent, as they were causing the worst framerate hitches we have been seeing.
  • Several places where people were escaping the world or getting stuck in collision have been refined. Also, if you are stuck in an endlessly falling state, the game will attempt to put you back, either through loading the last save or respawning Henry aboveground.
  • Various cases where you were able to interrupt or break your current quest have been safeguarded.

People who really disliked this game didn't do their due diligence before purchasing IMO. You should generally know whether or not you like 'walking simulators', and as far as they go this is a fine experience.

I've said this time and time again

It's like buying NBA 2k16 and then saying its crap and I'm not really a hoop fan either

There was so many YouTube video sof Firewatch making it really really clear what type of game this was like there are most games.

I really enjoyed the conversations with Delilah .

I've played it ...loved it and I'm actually playing it again post the patches and hey just on this every game released on ps4 often has glitches and faults - you have to expect at that at release.

I reckon one thing they could have done is use the speaker on controller for her voice when she talks giving you that walking talkie feel

Just finished it and can say it's good. Love story rich games and this one delivers. Plus the maturity of the story is what I enjoyed the most about it. Moments when I really felt the connection between Harry and Deliha. Although it's a quick game. Finished it in like a day.

Wouldn't say it's one of the best made games as it defiantly has its annoying bugs. Keep walking around getting stuck on rocks and such. Would of loved it if Harry had more agility. Ability to actually jump when ever you want and such.

I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
Potential to be brilliant but just misses it. a good adventure nevertheless.

I explored everywhere in the game and not once did I experience a graphic block ...small glitches but no blocks

I played the game over a week ....played about 45 minutes each night and I'm of the firm belief this game is better playing it like that instead of just rushing to the end in 4 hours

Oddly journey was like this and excuse the terrible pun but games need to enjoy the journey instead of thinking about the destination

I knew what I was getting with this game. I love the genre. But there was nothing to do in this game. No animals to see in the middle of a ****ing forest (I did adopt a turtle but nothing else). No history markers or something to read about some old tree or anything, there was literally no reason to explore, and personally I just thought the story sucked, I thought the convos were boring as hell.

I can understand that the gameplay was a bit stale because I get that. Loved the atmosphere though. But Well this is an indie title and a cheap game so I guess you can't really expect a huge far cry like world with heaps to do.

Story well I disagree as I loved it but I guess it's down to individual preference.

I don't expect heaps to do, the thing was there was nothing to do. As I said, chuck in some signs or something to read that give a history of the area, anything.

It wasn't a real area

I would have liked to see the controller speaker used to hear Delilahs voice that would have been a cool addition

Maybe more dialogue between them and more meaningful decisions - the de ions in what you say don't alter what happens next which I think it could have Like in heavy rain and life is strange games

That said it was still a brilliant story and I maintain play it over a week or say an hour each couple of nights and the game is better - that might seem weird

We are often in a hurry in games to get to the end - this game wasn't about that and that's the key ....well for me and my humble opinion anyways

Look at the journey and not focus on the destination .......

That's underselling Journey, that has a great score and visuals.

While the simple visuals go a long way to having a easy to render experience, they aren't by any definition advanced. From what I've experienced so far the score only really kicks in if you're close to doing something.

I got what this game was going in and the best feature of the game is the dialogue, and to me it's ok but not great. The beginning of the game was good with the visual word choices, but then once the actual game started, soon began to feel a bit too repetitive.

Even though it's a rigid linear game, I just expected more. That' a subjective viewpoint, just feel this game is $15 at best.

Just knocked this over, what a limp game.

Ending didn't require a massive twist or reveal but when the narrative of the girls/kid/Delilah/cave didn't amount to anything big/OMG'ish, they should have spent a LOT more time on the dialogue if that was the focus.

Barely worth d/l as a PS+ freebie.

Decided to purchase this on the weekend and finished it just then. Reading through I had to lol at some of the comments bashing the game, it's a completely different, but fantastic game. Not for everyone but you have to appreciate it for what it is and what it wanted to achieve, and I think they nailed it.

The game is all about the relationship with Henry and Delilah, and throughout the whole game I was questioning "what the hell is going on here", kept me on edge.

I was expecting a different ending but it wasn't to bad, sort of felt that Delilah might've been "in on it all" and that would be revealed at the end, when you enter her look out.

8.5/10 for me, won't play again as there's no replay value but worth the money IMO.

I have replayed it after a break and while I know what will happen I enjoy the banter between Henry and Delilah

At least it was something different

Loved this game! Something completely different and fresh, I was skeptical at first if I would enjoy it, but don't knock it before you try it! 9/10

Yeah it's a great game. People who complain the ending falls flat seem to miss the fact that's the entire point.

Ultimately I think it was brave of the developers to pitch an idea centred around a fortysomething protagonist, with themes of isolation and middle age that are outside the realm of understanding for a lot of their audience. You can see that a lot of reviews were written by people in their 20s and early 30s who just didn't get it.
