Is anybody else frustrated as hell at the slow starts and lack of scoring shut down power?

i just can't see why, maybe we aren't having enough gatorade before the match starts or something, because these lethargic starts have me stumped.

It's literally driving me insane. The close wins are the sweetest. We have lost the last 2 close ones and have a leaky defense. Until something changes down back we can't be considered a serious contender.

Complacent, soft and effortless.

Players need to wake up (ie. they are far from the best midifield in the comp.) and the fans need to wake up (the team is not a top 4 prospect and will battle it out for a place in the finals.)

Good effort getting back in it, but that means sweet f*ck all. There is no "bloody good try" column on the ladder. Just ask the Doggies.

Give any team a 48 (!!) point break and you don't really deserve it.

Man I am dirty on one of the most pathetic performances I've seen this team put in in almost 3 years (first 20 minutes). Good comeback means nothing if you don't win. Game runs for 4 quarters - they need to pull their heads out their arses and put in a whole game.

We do have a problem with first quarters. But I think we have a problem in general. Where is the round 1 though 15 side of last year???

Dont know if we'll make the finals this year.

You guys ned to get back to your first quarters of last year, for example V Collingwood. Come to think of it, last night was pretty much a mirror image of that game. I have no doubt that you will be up there at the end of R22. Its only round 3. They played well to get back into the game last night. Could have been well and truly belted.

No doubt its a positive that we didnt just roll over and play dead. But the bottom line is that we shouldnt get ourselves into positions like that in the first place. We were never gonna win from there.

as we saw on saturday night, slow start will cost us games. no side can afford to give the opposition that kind of head start.

You would have thought it was our club in a media storm the way they came out, not Essendon. God knows why our players are intimidated by Essendon, I just don't understand it. Maybe they were distracted with everything that was happening. They shouldn't have been. I think we have to instigate some fights at the beginning of games, so that we play with some intensity, anger, frustration... something, anything to get us going

It's strange isnt it...yet we stand up to Brisbane and go toe to toe with easily the best team in the league. Without the slightest hint of intimidation.

Yet when Essendon come out....we seem to quiver in our boots.
