My work's Xmas party was today, it was lame

The lame ones realise it and just do a breakfast. I figure if anyone wanted to catch up for a drink they'd organise it themselves anytime of the year, which is kind of the attitude I take now. Who cares if it is Christmas? If someone wants to catch up they will.

Nah, city. Nah. Just coz. Its cheap- will relax in the pool + gym, get room service. And catch up with friends who work in the city, like lunch/after work.

Not that im saying you have to rent a hotel room lol, but its like 2 birds, one stone..

There is something to be said for staying at a hotel.

Everything done for you and you can just switch off for a night or 2.

I avoid most work Xmas functions. Had a 2hr team lunch today which was ok - paid for our own meals, but manager covered the room booking & first round of drinks.
