Saturday: my aunty and uncle are coming down. So we'll no doubt be going BBQ their place. They're my buffers. Then Sunday they'll be OUT OF HERE.

I haven't felt the best today. That sums up 2020 pretty much so.
My parents in their later years used to just have NYE at home but with the snacks like I'll be having tonight. My dad used to love pickled herring, just like I do. He only lived for four more NYEs after my return. Mum and I used to stay up to watch the fireworks on TV from Navy Pier in Chicago after dad died. Her last NYE she was too tired to stay up so we had our little celebration earlier in the evening. I had to make special stuff for her since she could only eat blended food, nothing solid. So shrimp with seafood cocktail and lobster with melted butter were put into the blender(not at the same time, of course
) so it looked like she had two shakes on her plate in small bowls. Thank God for our mini Magic Bullet.
Twenty years ago tonight, I was looking forward for my coming trip to Ft Lauderdale Florida and my cruise from Miami to the Bahamas. I could not stand the cold Chicago weather and had to get away for a month to a warmer clime.

I love Florida- and the trip to Key West was awesome.
