Is Andy making a subtle reference to The Office in this?. Ie. The office IS the show he did make- and the one he is being forced to make in Extras is the opposite to what he made in the Office.

It is an interesting dilemma that I assume must face a lot of people in entertainment, especially in the US.

Not seen either shows (Extras or Office x 2) but the Matt LeBlanc show Episodes was based upon this premise. It’s an English show so it is actually quite funny. And the caricature Matt LeBlanc he played was quite good. Funnier than anything he ever did in Friends.
