Kind of hard to explain but Fevola used to hiss all the time but was a great friendly cat. Like he would hiss and then 3 seconds later he would be rubbing your leg purring. But like a lot of the time it would be a legit response to me doing something a bit annoying to him so he was just kind of saying "Piss of mate it's annoying!".

Ive seen footage of a very friendly staffie, growling. And this was a nice/friendly response to his owners affection. Was so bizzare to watch, but it was legit. Took his owners a long time to figure out what he was doing and he was not aggressive.
