It's also a Catholic school >> Government.

Will never work at another government school, its just too unreliable.
Pretty noticeable the difference between the kids at the public school and the private Catholic here, latter way better behavior generally.

I was thinking:
  • new phone (I think I'm a tad overdue for one. Looking at the new motorola for $230)

Not going to spend $1300 on whatever the latest Apple is?

I have an ipod. Thats the only apple product I need.
I've still got a beaten up ipod shuffle I use at the gym because I dont want to listen to music via my phone still, their stuff is so overpriced.

The Google Pixel 6a is great without breaking the bank and not too big like almost all most other phones.

Generalisation tho.

I remember at my last school some of the biggest campaigners were the kids in the gifted/advanced program. And you'd probably assume the opposite wouldnt you.

Same kinda deal with private v public imho.

You know which ones are the worst imo? Not even the 'bad' ones because you know right up front what you are dealing with and can counteract them right from the start. It's the ones that are 'under the radar' annoying and not obviously a tool at first. Like even though are they pretty quiet they wont bother to listen to a word you say and do stuff like interfere or wind up other kids subtlety. And they often come from the private school.

I've always been reasonably strict but probably let young kids have too much leeway early on which makes them hard to pull into line later on, now I'm super militant from day 1.

Yr 7s from HS I have a bit of an unconventional method, I actually give them a 'long leash' and as long as they do some work in a lesson and nothing dangerous just let them muck around in patches. I find you get them onside and often even a level of respect, they don't have to be there so coming down and leaning something is way better than nothing.

Ch 10 must be on some kind of budget for letters in tv shows. Tonight MKR is followed by RFDS. FMD

I meant Ch 7 dammit!
