One of the worst faculties from my POV are the librarians.

At least at my old school anyway, not here (except for the loud talking). Just complete sense of over self importance. I remember one taking up most of a Staff briefing with their library news crap which no one cares about.

Forgive my ignorance but what do they actually do apart from stamp out books and put returned ones away.

If they're a teacher librarian, they are qualified to take an actual class in the library.

Whereas just a regular librarian, would not be able to do that, you would need a teacher in the room.

This is why legally, as an aide I am allowed to take a student/s to the library. Because a teacher is in the room.

I cannot be in a regular classroom alone with students.

Re. library work I guess they prepare resources, incl books and online, etc.

Help students with other day to day stuff, ie research, photocopying, whatever.
