I was supposed to go out today to run some errands with my AgedCare helper, but she texted me to say that she has Covid. Luckily she had already changed her cleaning day to tomorrow instead of the usual Tuesday. If she would have come on Tuesday I could have gotten it from her. Someone else will be taking me out tomorrow. I want to go to Aldi since they have a special sale on American candy and junk food like Twinkies for the 4th of July next week. I do have my life priorities right.

I used to have a 4th of July party with my class when I taught junior school in the 90s. I'd take out all my American souvenirs including political campaign stuff and Chicago Bulls and Cubs stuff and display them in the classroom. I'd bring peanut butter and "jelly" sandwiches and any American candy I could find. We'd play a game I invented using an American football nerf ball on the oval. I told the boys that my great great grandfather had invented it, thus it was named after my family surname. They believed it. Year 7s and 8s can be sooooo gullible.
