Can someone here who knows compare dunstan to salem?

I'd be happy with either. Rate both in the same group with Salem being my preference if having to choose. I think Salem is a nice fit but he won't be available unfortunately.

Is this for sure?
Who will pick him before us?
Melb or Pies?

I see one of Scharenberg and Bontempelli sliding.
Think pies will take one of them at 6 but not both at 6 and 10.
I guess Salem could go at 9 or 10. That leaves Freeman and Lennon for who doesn't take Salem.
Potential sliders one of Bontempelli and Scharenberg or one of Freeman and Lennon.
Or do we go the safe pick with Dunstan

This is also assuming Brisbane take McCarthy with 7

Exactly what I was thinking. Even the next pick or 2 after ours. I'm not greedy

With McDonald gone , in alphabetical order I would like one of Acres, Aish, Billings, Bontempelli, Boyd,Freeman, Kelly, Kolodjashnij, Lennon, Salem,Scharenberg, Sheed.

I don't want any surprises and am probably leaning towards Acres atm

I have Dunstan slightly after this on a prospect basis, due to physicals, and for the group of players predicted around our pick my order is probably leaning Sheed, Lennon, Salem, Freeman with Acres slightly ahead just based on what he can provide RFC potentially. I find it difficult to split Lennon and Sheed though on what they can offer RFC potentially.

For me what goes against Salem is he seems to be a bit more outside and for Freeman height with a lack of consistent huge possessions from what I have read. Having said that if we get Salem we can use him and he easily would find a role at RFC because we have plenty of holes to plug yet!

That aids the innuendo, the talks amongst followers and clubs is that he may slip due to doubts over his ability to play Midfield and a minor foot complaint, the rumours may not come to fruition but the fact is that he is a small chance to slip which is good enough in my books to get people talking. :thumbsu:

There may be Rumours and Innuendo but i struggle to see how he can possibly slip , specially when in these times we are all looking for Tall big bodied mids

It actually is a pretty good chance.

First 5 looks set. Boyd, Kelly, Billings, Aish and KK.

Collingwood have a massive hard on over Bontempelli. Lions I'm not sure but have heard that the SA boys (Aish and Scahrenberg) are not wanted after this years homesick epidemic, I can understand Aish but nor really Sccahrenberg. Norths pick is F/S and Dees want Salem. Collingwood then will pick between McCarthy, Lennon, Scharenberg and maybe Freeman, McCarthy seems to be firming for that pick even with next years strong KPP's. WCE will go local, Sheed, Acres or McCarthy (Next year waterman will probably be their first pick so if they want KPP its this year). We will get one of Scharenberg, Dunstan or Acres is my bet.

Could be way off the mark but heard Sharenberg has been compared to Goddard as a player type, which would be great, but from memory it took BJ a few years to find his feet at AFL level, though when he did he was pretty awesome. If the comparison is accurate, I wouldn't be surprised if he took a few years to adapt to AFL level, but be a very versatile type that would be important in a successful Richmond side once he matured. Too good to pass if he does slide.

Assuming that this is the case and Collingwood take Bontempelli with #6 and He does make it all the way to their #10 cant see them letting a potential top 5 pick go by.

Also I believe Brisbane are still in the picture with Berger

Definitely, just hope this recent trade period full of homesickness will put them off him although it will not be a problem for "The Berger".

Polec (sa) Docherty (vic) Yeo (wa) Longer (vic)
Unless they can find a top 5 player from Qld - They will have to select an interstate kid no matter what so why not Scharenberg

Fair point! They may be inclined to pick McCarthy to fill the void that Jono Brown will leave in the coming years, which is hopefully the case.

I'm not sure why but i have heard from two pretty reliable sources, although it was a few weeks ago, that the SA boys do not interest Brisbane. May not be true obviously but i'm hoping it is

wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of info on melbournes hard on for salem - would be great and thanks in advance

I personally like McCarthy for 2 clubs being Brisbane as the 1st & Carlton as the 2nd club if he is available at #13
