I agree.. except swap crouch for zak jones, A lot of people seem to think salem over lennon..(they might be right) but from everything ive read if both are available we would go for Lennon this year and I hope so! and to be honest I wouldnt have a clue who we would be likely to select at pick 50 its virtually impossible..every year the later rounds you can never tell.

Knowing the Tiges we're probably hiding someone in the lower leagues.

If it's between Salem or Lennon, I'll go Lennon because he is the type of player we need. We have have several midfielders that can go forward but not many classy mid sized forwards. We need more scoreboard pressure. I also picked him back on October 10th.

I agree we need more scoreboard pressure but we are also desperately in need of another quality (tough) inside mid to help Cotch. Very tough decision. Personally i'd lean towards Salem, as long as he can provide inside grunt ( haven't seen enough) With McBean, Rewoldt, Hampson we potentially have plenty of marking ability. McBean and O'Hanlan could provide good future lead up options. Salem is a safer bet IMO.

Can you imagine being one of these youngsters and reading these boards.... :D

I've heard that the Clubs advise them to steer clear of Big Footy...
Need to retain a sound mental health... :D

These kids just want to play football... and we're on here casting judgement of how good, shit, overrated, skinny, short, unco they are... and 99% of us armchair fat****s havent even seen them. LMAO.

Its enough to send these kids troppo. You gotta feel for them. :p

Thread needs more totally unfounded late mail.
Scharenberg's stress fractures will see him slide to 12 leaving the tigers pick up what was thought to be a top 3 choice only a few months ago....

Is that good enough?

Not really. Ortensia Fantastia a lock at 12, Dumont at 3, Tigers set on Jack Neverheardofhim etc.

Not long now.

Might "work from home" on Friday and head down to training to get a first glimpse.

I'm sold :)

Gee Freeman has a nice highlight reel. I'd be stoked with one of Lennon, Salem, Freeman. Not that keen of Jones really. The other three just have more upside than Jones. He just look like a solid player without being great.

Not having a dig at you Steve, but I think that is exactly what many posters said about Vlas. If only we had a crystal ball :)

i'm coming more and more around to Jones. He actually reminds me a bit of Callan Ward in his draft year. Ward sort of came from nowhere but just kept getting better and better as the year went on as he realised he was not only good enough but better then everyone else.

Jones has been improving at a rate of knots and apparently his preliminary final was sensational (if he had of played as well in the GF i think he'd be talked about as a top 10 pick), we know he is professional and he has an attitude to succeed and his brother can play football at a pretty high standard so it suggest he has good genetics. Plus he adds to our Ranger brigade!

I'd only be a little disappointed if we took Jones over Salem, Sheed and Lennon but i think he'd make me forget it pretty quickly. Acres would the other i'd take ahead of him but i've given up hope we will grab him.

The only thing with Jones is I wish he were a but quicker, but i think its more acceleration then top line speed.

problem is he is shorter clearly than Ward and V, don't want to be negative but IMO a relevant stat

I've heard he is 183cm now?? But they may have been the draft camp 2cm extra rule?

Yet taller then his brother and Arnot and Ellis. His height is no worry, yes the game is gearing towards taller mids but being 6 foot is still a great size. Its only when you are getting down to Hartung and Lewis Taylor sizes its a worry. Salem is about the same size and Sheed and Dunstan are 2 cm taller which is nothing. Lennon is 4 cm taller but he is more a forward then midfielder at this stage and the least athletic of the lot.

And Ward is only 2cm taller.

Shuey, Sloane, Selwood, Libba, Adams, Bastanic, A Swallow, Rich, Ball, Boak, Wingard ect.. are all in that 181-184 height bracket.

Out of Jones, Lennon, Freeman, Salem which will make an impact sooner?
Thats the player i want. Lets not kid around, with a soft draw top 4 is there for the taking and who knows after that.
Last thing i want with our first rounder is someone that needs to time to develop. Sure we won't get 22 games but around
the 15 mark would be great.

IMO our premiership window starts next season at worst the year after that. How good would it be in 2015 if this years first rounder already has 15-17 games in him including a couple of finals.

I'd go Salem, Lennon, Jones then Freeman in terms of making an impact next year. But I think Sheed would make a bigger impact then all of them but Salem and Lennon (if he becomes a full time mid) could go past him eventually. The first three wouldn't be much in it for me but Freeman would be a fair way back.

I don't buy the 181cm to 184cm bracket.

To me there is the 180-181cm bracket, 182-183, 184-185, 186-187, 188-189, 190-191 cm brackets.

By the way, Selwood is the whole package, total gun, G Ablett is a superstar with elite blood lines. You can't compare them as elite rovers to others IMO.

If Selwood and Ablett did what they did at 188-189cm they would totally dominate the game because their aerial impact would be so much greater. Bit like Kouta when hitting a purple patch for the whole game!

It becomes relevant when height affects reach and ability to compete in different positions like rover versus ruck/rover/centre/wing/backline/forward line IMO etc..
