well with 3 days to go after a long, long, long off season we have to take on
the handbags this sunday.how do you think we will fair? will we win? or we lose?,personally i think we can take the points in a close one.i went a practice game a few weekes ago and i liked what i saw,for the first time in nearly two years our players started use their football brains we actually looked like a decent side, setting plays delivering the ball properly and best of all actually believing we could win and had a game plan and stuck to it .i have know doubt in just a short 5 to 6 months terry has improved our skills
and most of all attitude and as long we can stick at it we will win our fair share of games this year. what are your thoughts and hopes for this year?

Well, for all it's worth, I reckon the Tigers will get up by 25pts... although they may lead by alot more going into the last Q.

The only worry is our backline against the taller "Handbag with matching chokers" forward line. But then again, they may trip over their high heels and ruin their makeup and let our guys run away with the ball, straight down the center of the ground and deliver it perfectly to Richo! (WHich BTW, he will kick at least 6 goals for the day) And if the kick goes over his head or through his hands (gulp) then there will be HEAPS of options waiting to pick it up and snap a goal...

Predicted scoreline (yep, going out on a limb early in the season!)
Tigers - 121
Geelong - 96
(If weather is fine - Otherwise, take off 25 odd pts)

GO TIGERS!!!!!

Lets get serious. We are still last years woodenspooners. You can't really be EXPECTING us to win this? I would love us to win it, but expecting it is just off the cards in our position.

its only geelong.

We always come out with something to prove in round 1.
(although we fall away as the season warms)

Let them be our canvas.

Who cares if we finished last in 2004. We have a new coaching staff and new style. 2004 is irrelevant now. We have enough good players to win under the guidance Wallace. How many of our last 10 games of 2004, did we play with confidence, passion and aggression? Ummmmmmmmm NONE. We wanted to lose our last couple of games at least lol.

Here Here madtiger!

I have faith that the tigers "may" change, and "could" win. I think TW has done the players a favour by bringing up the Ottens trade, and drilling home that they are playing the club that got him... Last year doesn't mean anything now, it's 2005! (even though it sounds a tad contridicting :p )

Not that I expect them to beat everyone along the way, or win a Grand Final this year, but they may sneek up on a few other clubs this year too! And not just Geelong...

So I'll stand by my tips until they prove me wrong...

remember the wallace game plan is up to 5 goals better attacking and up to 5 goals better defensive than the frawley game plan ;). How can we not be a good chance?
did frawley have a game plan?, that's news to me!

yeah frawleys game plan was kick to kick to see who would take the best pack mark. This would usually occur between back pocket and the wing. He also had another tactic of getting as many players in the forward 50m arc as possible and seeing if Richo can take a mark over 3 opponents. I think the players got bored of this after 2 years, so they just jogged to these contests :D.

hahahahaha thanks for the laugh...not only this thread but for the 120 minutes of 'football' you rabble played today.

HAHAHA bad? yeah those 15 hitouts 9 tackles and 3 goals were ordinary. He was a valuable player is an 11 goal win. Oh....how did Simmonds play? :D

Whilst I don't approve of some of the slanging match between both supporter groups, I'll actually be one to acknowledge some of the Tiger player's performances.

Daniel Jackson impressed me with his overhead skills, and ability to rebound out of defence. Didn't get an awfully lot of the ball, but looked good out on the ground.

Mark Chaffey seems to be rejuvenated as a run-with player.

Chris Newman, Chris Hyde, and Shane Tuck looked good in patches. May not be stars or elite players, but should turn out to be solid midfielders of the future -- something every club needs.

And can't leave without mentioning one Brett Deledio. The kid looked all class early in the game. Will be a gem.

To all you level-minded Richmond supporters, chins up. I've no doubt the future holds better things in store.
