Anyone here been on one in SA, if so whereabouts? My brother in law is hoping to take me on one as I've been helping him out whilst his bulged discs fix themselves. Just interested to find out where people have done there's from and if they enjoyed them.

Yeah there are a few which go from Adelaide, mainly down Glenelg way. If you really want good fishing though i'd suggest you head down to Yorkes, as any of the charters down there will deliver better fishing.

If you want even better fishing keep heading west though. The charter that goes from Arno Bay is fast developing a reputation as the best Snapper fishing charter in the Australia.

There's a couple of companies running charters out of Marion Bay which I have heard are very good although I haven't been on one myself.

is that the place where they are selling the $100 giant oysters or am I thinking of coffin bay?

Depends how far you wanna travel...

A couple of good companies run off of Port Hughes (about 1 hr 45 mins from adel) where you will bag out on whiting :)

Another good mob leave from Cape Jervis where you have a crack at some snapper and if they arent biting you head to KI to get some whiting. This one is only for those with a mean stomach and good sea legs though!

I wouldnt have thought a fishing charter is the best way to get over bulged discs in your back though?

Excellent fishing site and sponsired by John Winselt who runs a fishing charter from Glenelg. It is supposed to be highly regarded.

well his back is alot better now, thanks to glucose injections into his discs near his spine, his back will only ever be 80% right, but i'm sure he's not going to let that stop him from going fishing nor me

thanks for all the advice guys, i don't have the best sea legs so hopefully there are some good drugs to overcome it.
I'd actually like to go down the coorong as coorong mullet is my current favourite fish

well i'm going on this charter http://www.capefishing.com.au/ , hopefully we get bags of whiting and i don't spend the whole trip throwing my guts up

That could work out as being good burley for the fish, just make sure you clean them properly first, would hate to think you have to digest something you have already digested. :p

Probably a bit late to answer this, but if you ever intend to fish Whyalla, after a mega snapper or two. Heres the go.

My wife works as a receptionist at the Westlands Motel. Just look for a sexy blonde called Julianna :D ( Jules for short )

Your almost guaranteed a huge snapper on the charter. :thumbsu:

the charter is on this sunday, gotta leave at 5am to get there by 7:30 start, supposedly snapper and whiting are the go at the moment. i found some stuff called travelcalm which will hopefully help me whilst the boat is heaving through backstairs passage :(

fishing charter was great, went on it about 1 month ago. couldn't go for schnapper because it is breeding season but we got a few whiting, snook and salmon and plenty of other fish that i cannot recall the names. tastiest fish was a small red mullett i caught. managed to get through the whole trip without spewing unlike some of my friends. can't wait to save up and do it again.
