Need some advice on which is better/more reliable? Massive price different (roughly $50)

Does Jawbone track weightloss? I know fitbit does and has the display screen but I saw that jawbone is more reliable in step recognition.. eitherway I will have to wear on my watch wrist which is a bummer.

Is this a New Years resolution to get fit or you are actively keen on tracking your progress? If its a NY resolution wait a month and you will save your $$$.

If your keen to track your performance then the Fitbit Surge would be my choice it has really good online software as well as Android and Apple apps at your disposal. There has been a bit of debate lately of just how accurate these devices are, I have noticed that the HR monitors on the Surge are the same reading when I check it on the treadmill or elliptical rider as for the accuracy of calories burnt etc I presume there is some degree of error but as long as that it is within a scope of 10-20% error I can live with that as I always underestimate than overestimate my performances. Im not sure any device out there is really 100% accurate.

No I'm going on a diet as I got a reality check after my hernia surgery and tipping the scale at 94kgs. Being a new dad, I want to be around longer. My BMI and waistline are ridiculous.

Start my diet on Monday and want something to check my HR and activity..

Obviously speak to a Doctor beforehand and speak to others more qualified than myself and others on here, but start with walking around your neighborhood and look seriously hard at your diet.

What is your height? Assuming you are an average male height, you are "only" 20kgs overweight which you should be able to reduce over the course of a year.
