This nasty trojan has found it's way onto my computer and even though removal is apparently easy I can't seem to get rid of it.

I'm not sure if it's related, but whenever I start my computer up I get a .dll error as Windows is loading. Something like "odujukijadu.dll is missing" etc.

Symantec seems to suggest it's low risk but I'm still concerned, I get paranoid that my passwords will be accessed even when the virus seems relatively harmless.

Any suggestions would be helpful at this point.

Sounds like you've removed the trojan but something is still trying to launch it on startup.

Go into Msconfig (start>run>msconfig) and have a look at what is scheduled to automatically run on startup, keep all the stuff that you know you want/need, and unclick the rest (the obvious dll may even be part of the list).

If that doesn't work download a registry fix program, run a scan and let it repair any issues. Any of the popular seeded ones on TPB will work fine, don't use Uniblue though.

I dunno how computer literate you are, but when you say you searched for the file, do you mean you just used the file search under the Start menu? That won't work. You need to look for the missing file in the registry. There's a good program that lets you access all the files/dlls that are called upon during startup, but I can't remember the name of it. Try the other things I've said first and if you still have the issue, I'll track that program down.

Great work Invig, I got rid of the dll error and now I'm going to do a full system scan to see if it's still coming up as a virus.

Take a screenshot of your scan results and post them here if you can. Also what version of Norton are you using?

I haven't used Norton for ages, but if memory serves me it doesn't delete viruses, it just puts them into the 'virus vault'. It's effectively the same as deleting the file, it prevents it from doing anymore harm, so maybe this is why it is still showing up?

Download AVG and do a scan with it as well, see what it shows up.
