NY_Knicks_logo.jpg

Coming off a season of disappointing results the New York Knicks have decided enough is enough and made previously unknown Australian Jed Lehmann, their coach. The move has come out of no where but the Knicks think Lehmann is the guy to lead them back to the Finals.

Lehmann had this to say. "Big changes are coming. No one is safe, everyone will be traded if I can get an upgrade for them. I will do anything to improve this team, anything." Strong words from Knicks new head coach.

Breaking News: Melo, Lin, many others on the move.

Despite being the better team on paper the New York Knicks, couldn't manage to come away with a win. The lack of chemistry between the players was apparent and the T'Wolves made them pay. They came away with a 102-108 win, starting their season on a good note.

Kevin Love was his regular self putting on 24 points to go with 16 boards, Michael Beasley also chipped in with 27 points.

For the Knicks, MarShon Brooks showed promise in his debut pouring on 17 points and he also grabbed 7 boards. If he can do this on a regular basis 'Shon will be a shoe-in for rookie of the year.

In their second game of the season and their first game of the year at Madison Square Garden, Jed Lehmann's, Knicks faced off against the Los Angeles Clippers. The game started in emphatic fashion with Blake Griffin's posterization of Greg Oden in the 5th minute of the game.

Coach Lehmann immediately called a timeout and steadied his troops. The poster infuriated Oden and the rest of the Knicks followed him to end the first quarter on a 12-0 run. They didn't look back from there despite a late charge from the Chris Paul lead Clippers. They ran out eventual winners, 105-91.

Chris Paul was phenomenal for LA racking up 28 points to go with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in 41 minutes of playing time.

Coach Lehmann commended the whole team for a great win. Amar'e Stoudemire and Deron Williams played like the All Stars they are, Greg Oden was productive in his limited minutes, going 5-5 from the field and MarShon Brooks showed that he is a legit contender for Rookie of the Year.

Feedback would be appreciated.

Melo trade might come back to bite you. His absolute money in 2k12. Had him tear me a new one countless times.
Don't know how good Brooks/Williams are in 2k12. But I would of traded away Amare and tried to pick up Harden. And stuck with Lin/Shumpert at the point or try upgrade Lin to Curry. Then pick up a PF with good low post defense out of free agency or for 2nd rounders for depth.

1. Curry/Shumpert/Douglas
2. Harden/JR.Smith
3. Fields/Novak/Pietrus
4. Melo/Jefferies
5. Chandler/Oden

Anyway will follow, looks promising.

Breaking News: 3 Deals done

NY_Knicks_logo.jpg

From day one, Knicks coach Jed Lehmann said he was willing to trade anyone and today was no exception. Three trades got agreed on and Lehmann had this to say. "I am very, very happy with the deals we made today. We had to let some of the members of our Knicks family go, but this is a business, and I will do anything to win."

Trail Blazers receive: J.R Smith, '13 first round pick
Knicks receive: Nicolas Batum

Coaches comment: "J.R, is a very good, athletic player and it is hard to let him go but Nicolas Batum is an elite talent, who has unlimited potential. We just couldn't say no to this deal. Trading draft picks is rarely a good idea but we are in a "win now" phase so it is okay to let it go."

Nuggets receive: Landry Fields, Toney Douglas.
Knicks receive: Kenneth Faried, Jordan Hamilton, '12 second round pick

Coaches comment: "Toney had requested a trade due to the lack of minutes he was receiving and although Landry has one of the best work ethics I have ever seen, he had become expendable due to the acquisition of Nic Batum. Faried brings all Landry did in the terms of grit, determination and hard work and he also has a higher ceiling. He will be our first big off the bench."

Wizards receive: Jordan Hamilton, '12 first round pick
Knicks receive: Jordan Crawford

Coaches comment: "Jordan Hamilton didn't really fit into our rotation and our pick will be somewhere in the high 20's so it was an easy deal for us. We lost a lot of fire power when we dealt J.R Smith so we had to go out and regain some in the form of Jordan Crawford, who when hot can put up points with the best of them."

The 1-1 Knicks faced off against the 0-2 Houston Rockets, both teams needed the win but for different reasons. The Knicks need to win to push for a high playoff seed, in a 29 game season every game counts. The Rockets on the other hand need to win to compete for a playoff spot.

The game was a back and forth affair for the majority of the first half, with an astounding 8 lead changes. With 6 seconds left in the half Deron Williams passed to Batum who dribbled, pulled up and nailed the buzzer beater to give the Knicks some momentum going into the second half.

From there on out it seemed like every bounce was going the Knicks way. For example, Deron Williams attempted to Oop the ball to a streaking Jordan Crawford on the fastbreak but Goran Dragic managed to tip the ball. Somehow the ball bounced off Dragic's hand and into the basket. Everyone, including Coach Lehmann was in disbelief but that play told the tale of the game.

The Knicks went on to win 112-105. With a lot of luck and even more skill.

All of the players brought in through trades showed exactly why Coach Lehmann made deals for them. They all had great games and Lehmann had this to say. "You can look at the stats as much as you like but it doesn't tell the full story. Nic, Kenneth and Jordan showcased their immense talents and they are all a joy to coach." Here are the new, New York Knicks stats below.

Deddy, why would you even consider trading Melo or anyone else on the team.....

give me some logic behind that?

Melo and STAT don't work well together both need lots of touches to influence the game. I had to get rid of one of them and I wanted to keep Amar'e.

okay so they don't work that well together but if I was in charge of the Knicks and had to give up one or the other Stat would've been on the first plane to Brazil.....

Melo is a top 5 scorer as well as a good rebounder AND he plays both the forward spots as well as a great FT shooter and he's strong AND he's got a wax figure in Madam Tusauds in NYC!!

I rest my case.
