Let's do it in an early round against GWS/GCS so 90,000+ Richmond fans can get to see it, instead of the 17,000 members who were lucky enough to get a GF ticket.

This. So much thisI remember Carlton fans telling me over the last few years that they were closer to a flag because, unlike us, they've realised that they're shit and have started rebuilding.
I want their sorry bottom 4 arses to see it in person.
I feel premiership player Shaun grigg needs a prominent role in the unfurling. Maybe he can unfurl himself towards the carlton cheersquad, give em the ol flies' eyes
Seeing as how we finally broke our jinx perpertrated by that filthy Carlton bint 35 years ago, surely it is fitting that we present our brand new flag, the beginning of yet another Tiger dynasty in front of the sad remnant of the club that have long been our Grand Final bitches.I'm pretty sure Collingwood unfurled their 2010 flag in a later round. It's just a ceremony, so it shouldn't actually matter who against and when we do it. I figure the opening round will be packed anyway, with a good % of Carlton supporters in attendance anyway. We all saw how pitiful the GWS support is, even in a final, so let's take advantage of it for the flag unfurling.
Funny thing is some of their supporters still think in some ways they won that deal, no wonder they are such a mess of a club.I feel premiership player Shaun grigg needs a prominent role in the unfurling. Maybe he can unfurl himself towards the carlton cheersquad, give em the ol flies' eyes
.Speaking of old club switches, Andy Collins was at the players function, was good to see him there really
AFL are idiots at times when it comes to scheduling, but it will be Round 1 against the salty blue campaigners. And we are the premiers, so they better sit there and watch every god damn second of it.There seemed to be a 'tradition' for many years in the VFL where the unfurling was always Rd 2 - because that's when the Premiers played their first home game. Not sure why.
Just done a quick check - Bulldogs played Rd 1 away this year, Hawthorn did the year before. It varies. It doesn't seem to be a 'rule' that you either do it in Rd 1 or Rd 2.
The main thing we must avoid is what happened to Collingwood - their first home game in 2011 (Rd 1) after winning the flag in 2010 was against Port Adelaide - at Docklands.
WE ARE NOT UNFURLING OUR FLAG AT DOCKLANDS!!!!!!
