After getting a flat today and jacking it up to take it off, i went to the boot to get the spare, only to realise that in the 3 years i'd owned my car, not once had i actually put air in it.

The spare was flatter than the flat, which got me thinking, how many people check the air in the spare tire??

Dont take to me about spare tyres.
I have had the worst luck!

I am driving my sisters bfs car right. And the tyre blows, no problems their is a spare in the back! Yeah there is one, but apparently it blew at some stage aswell.

So I go and get a replacement WHEEL $35 and 2 hrs later!

Then just last week, another one went .. .$50 later, another tyre!

Arghh!

Yeah check it probably once every 6 months. Also carry a litre bottle of water and a thing of oil, jumper leads etc etc "just in case". Dad always used to harp on and on to me about having that stuff in the boot. It drives me nuts having it rolling around in the boot all the time, but I cant bring myself to take it out - cause I know that as soon as I do - I'll regret it.

Still cant see the point really, if I ever break down I can just shorten the skirt a little :D

I know my spare tyre is flat cos it got slashed by a nutcase, and i havent got around to replacing it! I'm with Sly though, when you can flutter the eyelashes and feign complete ignorance, it doesnt matter too much! And i also have the jumper leads and water bottle, spare oil etc in the boot, i used to hear it and think something bad was happening back there! :D

Is anyone elses post count moving? Mine has been sitting at 196 for over a week! Or is it some glitch in my profile i havent personalised?

For 'nutcase' did you mean to say 'Collingwood supporter'? ;)

Posts on boards other than the AFL board do not add to the post count. I think Team Boards do though.

Supposedly your post count increases now when you post on football related boards only

Oh, thanks.... silly me.

Docker - Nah they were a Carlton supporter, and a total madman!!! How bad is that! And it was last year, so its not like they had an excuse like we do this year. Bloody nutcases! ;)

Should keep a towel in the boot too. You can kneel on it while you change the tyre, and then wipe your hands after. Everytime I have to change a tyre I seem to be in a suit or dressed up to go out.

A short skirt kept in the glove box would be a better idea and more space efficient too ;)

You've never seen me in a short skirt and a boob tube

(although those who have say it is an experience they won't soon forget)

Things I always have in my car:
Oil, radiator coolant, water, brake fluid, spark plugs, fuses, globes, shifting spanner, windshield wiper rubbers, waterproof tape & panty hose, if none of the above fix the problem, then I know I have to take it to a mechanic, post haste.

I have all these things in My Car too Mantis, but none of them are in the Boot.:D :D :D

Cheers,

66:) :)

As of this afternoon, I declare Curtin Uni the worst place possible to break down. 10,000 parking spots, 20+ official carparks that have names, and then all the others with no names, labels or anything.

It took Mr RAC half an hour to find me ON CAMPUS.

Plus white Barinas aren't exactly rare either :p

:( ;)
