Not a word from the animal rights activists today

Once again, a show of the character and worth of our youth.

Stupid young pricks, should be locked up for doing this, we are talking about horses worth millions of dolllars here, not just back yard ponies.

At least there is likely to be CCTV footage of the morons at centre of this.

And yes, where is Hugh "****ing" Wirth on this occasion, who really gives a shit about 1 of our 42 Million Kangas getting put down when some thoroughbreds have been assaulted basically.

The RSPCA should have spoken out about this.:(

Found out one of the horses that was seriously injured has a broken pelvis and wont race again...is an expensive filly. Obviously Kav hasn't released the name of the horse for a reason, so I wont, but it should come out shortly but it was a very promising filly that a mate has a share in....

How flat would Kav and the owners by feeling, what a disgrace!

Crazy shit seems to follow Kav. It's like he half expects it now to balance the good luck he has.

Sounds like the damage is not as bad as it could have been even though some poor owners have copped it. If it was Kavs boys it could have been a real costly mistake.

Not sure who is going to foot the bill here but if I were one of these poor owners, I would be visiting my friendly legal professional and getting some advice. If the horse broke down on the track then fair enough - that's the risk you take but this is a long way from that.

I would suggest the VRC might end up bearing the cost as by renting out Flemington for the BDO and by failing to ensure these idiots were kept out of the compound it might come under a negligence claim.

This is assuming the idiots cannot be identified and in any case they are unlikely to be able to pay even if they were identified.

Devastating for all those involved.

The filly I know of was purchased for $350k....lot of $$$$$$$$

f*%king disgrace this..The guilty should be put away for this.
Where is the RSPCA reaction..Its like going into a ferrari dealership and vandalising all the cars.

Apparently no cctv footage at all!...How the hell can they have such valuable horses stabled like that, without security camera's, for gods sake!!

...and then to have a massive LOUD function within 100mtrs of the stables (so says D Hayes) tells me that the VRC aren't thinking of the horses either!...the noise would have to have spooked the poor horses..

Big Disaster Overall = Major stuff-up by VRC, who need to be more aware of the responsibility they have to protect the horses housed at the track..

Deserve to be sued to the hilt IMO..

No stable I have ever been to or worked has ever had CCTV.
And if there is ever any dodgy stuff going on then it'll be caught on CCTV.

Sorry if I missed something but, you have just said on the first line that there wasn't any cctv......then on the second line you have said if any shenanigens at the stables it would be picked up by cctv:confused:

....and I realise most stables won't have security cameras, but stables at the big tracks e.g. Flemington, must have them!....with multi million dollars worth of horse flesh in those stables, it is ultimately in the VRC's best interest to provide such cameras...

I think he may be alluding to the trainers themselves doing something they wouldn't want on film.

If you are outlaying that much on a horse, you'd be silly not to have it at least partially insured.

I meant if a trainer was going to go the old needle they wouldn't want the CCTV's around.

And they were more than happy to cry out about whip rules and lobby for padded whips.

This whole thing is a joke and I hope it bites the VRC and those little pricks who were in the stables in the bum. The VRC could spend another $10k on security for the stables and there would be no problem at all. They could end up being sued for a lot more now (please note I have no idea if they can be sued).

Secondly, if any other those little buggers DID get put on video, release it to the media and get them caught. They are too tight to pay for BDO tickets so they try and jump the fence and have some fun with horses. Seriously, they deserve to be penniless for the next 15 years
