Outstanding game for a bloke widely decried as being a dumb "footballer" and only in the team because he's a "name".

Windy, Johno must have given you wahtever it was he was on last week, thought he played a terrific game, hard at it, none of last weeks BS.

I don't know of anyone (other than Dan) who doesn't rate Fletchers football ability, it is his 'dumb' actions getting him reported that frustrates most supporters.

Hopefully that is behind him now and he has pulled his head in, because there is not a better full back playing the game.

I'll back Dan here. Fletcher sh*ts himself when he gets the ball these days. Not a patch on what he was 3 years ago. As a defensive stopper he is still one of the best going around, but i have little faith in him when he has the ball in a pressure situation.

I agree with you there Pornstar. Fletch just boots the ball in hope nowadays. Yet he can pinpoint a pass up to 60 meters away if he focuses instead of panicking.

I think you will find Fletchers panicking has a lot to do with the fact the team has lost a lot of confidence and the back 6 has been unstable for a while, although now it is starting to have a more settled line up. I think you will find he will get better as the group gels and confidence rises in the team - which it should do after beating Brisbane. That game psychologically could make all the difference for us to free up our game and start beleiving in each other again.

I've always agreed with this. What he did to Neitz in round 2 was a good example of his ability to stop a player, and hopefully he can mirror that game this week.

But I also agree with Porny on this. Sometimes, when he is forced to make a decision, he looks a bit clueless. He was very good against Lynch in the one-on-ones on Saturday nght. But, there was one instance in the first term, where he got the ball and it skewed at right angles of his boot, dribbling along the ground for 40 metres, and it was like, "What are you doing!"

That would be the instance described by the commentry team as clever play, dribbling a "checkside" to the boundary line.

Had it been at the gabba it would have been deliberate.

Anyone else notice the sudden abscence of this rule on the weekend?

Pull your head in Windyhill. No one wants to dump Fletcher as he is an important cog in the wheel. All we are saying is that at the moment he is not playing at his best just like most of the team.

We are allowed to be critical as well as supportive!! This IS a forum for discussion I persume?!

When he (and the rest) get it together it will be awesome to watch.

Apologies to the following players. Neitz was beaten by a combination of Fletcher, Wellman, Bolton, Hille and Smoky McPhee.
And Icey, Fletch`s " panicky kicks" are a part of the package, when they come off we are all in raptures, when they don`t some go looking for the noose, you take Fletch, you take the " panicky kicks"

To a degree windy. I would have thought that after 10 years he could have learnt to control such a predigous kick a little more.

It is not a fluke when he passes it 60 metres to an Esssendon player on his own. Could he not try that a little more often when possible?

Lloyd to me is another one who does not seem to have learnt some more tricks after all these years. He is a sensational lead and is a dead-eye-di*k however he struggles to take contested marks and often falls over in them. He does spend a lot of time "hoping" for frees.

I know it is hard when you are double or more teamed but the best full forwards learn how to use this to their advantage -- Lockett (thump), Dunstall (Mr 2nd Effort) & Ablett (go higher than the others). What's Lloyds handle (Mr hope I get a free)?

BTW he is my fav player and has been since he started!

This whole season ive been under the impression that lloydy has had f all space to lead into - whereas down the other end the opposition forwards have had heaps of space (ie lynch last week - not that he moves anyway). I'm never sure if it's because the opposition flooding or our other forwards and midfielders pushing deep trying to provide options. I'd love to see just Lloydy and Cupes in the F50 when we go forward more often.

He played another great Game.

I thought he played very well against the Lions to.

He in my opinion is the best full back in the lead.

The only thing wrong with him is that he gets reported/suspended to much.
