Hey guys, unsure if this would be the right board but it seemed the most suitable, anyways I was sucked in by this shit, and stupidly enough only just realised how bad these deals are.

April last year I got a laptop that was worth $1800 on a deal with flexirent and was paying $121 a month. It is a decent machine specs wise but overheats way too easily and I use it for uni work/gaming, and it is pretty average for gaming (Not specs wise, just the keyboard is terrible, screen too small, etc). Now I decided I wanted to get rid of it, so I rung Flexirent today to see how much. Just quickly I've had it for 16 months now and on estimate paid $1936 for it with 8 months to run on the deal.

They tell me its $1012 to pay it out and return it, and $1.6K to keep it.

I know I got sucked in but just warning you guys, this is a joke!

I learnt this lesson when I was about 15 renting a VCR. May seem like a cheap way of getting some cool gear with the amount you pay each month, but you'll either end up paying for the item twice in monthly payments or paying even more if you wanna buy it outright from them.

We use it all the time because its such a great tax write off.
We up-date computers once every 12 months, we go for the 18 month rental, upgrade as soon as we can.

its well worth it if you're a business

Gday, which company do you go through? For a small business starting up, is it much of a process to arrange? Cheers
