Is that a Douglas Adams quote? It connects the northern suburbs to the rest of the city, which has long been regarded as a bad move.
No disrespect to what he’s lost, but there’s people out there who have lost everything.afl-fan-troy-west-known-as-catman-reveals-shock-of-losing-precious-memories-in-victorian-bushfires
Oh shit. Anyone starting a go fund me page?
I knew things were tough when the Bears were formed, and I made many a disappointing trip to Carrara, but this video paints a whole different picture for me. Compare this to the Devils, Suns and GWS, we were well and truly dudded and should be afforded rorts for years to come.

It was really sad to see the demise of Fitzroy, but I have to say from my point of view when the merge was announced back in the day, I was very happy that is was us merging with the Lions. What an advantage to have a presence in two cities especially when one of them is Melbourne, on the flip side it must have been devastating for Fitzroy supporters. Anyway I am proud of our Fitzroy heritage, and its not much but I always take two scarves to the Gabba, one Brissie Lions and one Fitzroy, I try to get to Melbourne at least twice a season, one or two games at the G and one game when the Lions are at the Gabba we go watch the game at the Royal Derby, always a good night.Thank you for posting ... having been neither a Bear nor a Roy (was a Tiger then inactive during the relevant period) I appreciate the insights ... especially re the Bears who get a lot less of a presence on here compared to Fitzroy (I know more about the demise of Fitzroy, the 'merger' agreement, the VFL assassination of the club, historical greats etc than I do about the Bears (mind you in some ways it is like comparing Britain vs Australian history ... there is just soooo much more British history and it is/was more culturally important to them))

First prize is a shiny medal and a year's Premium Platinum membership.I would be interested to see the data starting point. Percentage this century would be much more interesting.
We’re still a month away from the real stuff starting, so these kinds of lists are just gap‑fillers and largely meaningless opinions. But what they do highlight is how underrated and underappreciated Zorks has been and continues to be.![]()
Brisbane
Harris Andrews, Lachie Neale, Zac Bailey, Cam Rayner, Hugh McCluggage, Josh Dunkley, Will Ashcroft
“That’s the seven.”
B-Graders: Ryan Lester, Jack Payne, Dayne Zorko, Jaspa Fletcher, Jarrod Berry, Darcy Wilmot, Kai Lohmann and Logan Morris.
“That’s not even including Levi Ashcroft. I think he will be an A eventually, I think Fletcher will be an A.”
“15 at the top end… good luck beating that!”

Five‑time club Best and Fairest. Two‑time All‑Australian (and should’ve been again last year). One of the best rebound defenders of the modern era. Captain and a central figure in the Lions’ resurrection. Yet somehow, even people who should know better still overlook him.
He’s a bona fide A‑grader, comfortably ahead of a few of the players being listed above him.

I assume that this article identifying Cam as an A Grader has been posted in the Cam Rayner troll thread on the main board?![]()
