You think that with everyone now paying for the footy express (whether you use it or not) that they would put on more buses to and from the game. Common sense really but when you're talking about the state that has burst water mains everywhere in the middle of a drought, it really is too effing much to ask.

For an O-bahn bus to Tea Tree Plaza, we had to wait 40 mins, and when we finally got on a bus, the queue was still as long as it was 5 mins after the siren. It was as (unsurprisingly) pathetic as Pettigrew's game yesterday.

Is Torrens Transit keeping the money and refusing to put on adequate buses? Most likely plus they pay their staff worse than McDonalds so no one wants to work for them.

Can we please have a rail link to AAMI Stadium: the Grange train line is barely a km away so it would be easy to run it through the golf course to AAMI.

I lined up for about that long for the Golden Grove bus. They said on the radio this morning there was a problem getting the busses into the stadium because of trafic and that it will be fixed next time. I doubt that.

I think this was the one that your referring to, I noticed that every other bus that left had people standing, yet while I was in line all the FX1s had no one standing, everyone was seated and even on the bus I got on, while the line was as big as when I joined, There was atleast half a dozen spare seats.

easy to run a train line through a golf course?

I am assuming you are talking about Grange, good luck with that, there is no way in hell they would allow a train line to run through there. Nor should they.

Couldn't the train run straight up the Boulevard from the Albert Park staation without any need to go through any private property?

Doesn't the train line already go through Royal Adelaide?

Not familiar with the Albert Park Station. Not sure on the set up at Royal Adelaide, but yes it does run through the course.

Even if it does come through Grange, Im not sure where you could set up a station, possibly in an area near the 13th tee, which currently, is being proposed as an extra car park.

I just dont think there is a way to accomodate a train line, you would have to aquire too many homes, and there is no way in hell the golf course would allow it after spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on reshaping the West Course.

At least you guys can use the service. I'm in a wheelchair, its not wheelchair friendly, it doesn't come anywhere near my suburb and I still have to pay an extra levy on my season ticket for the bloody service, not to mention $10 for the car park when my brother and I have no choice but to take the car.

i live in the area - seaton park train station.

Extending the train line is definately a possibility and something ive been a firm supporter of since before the buses (bearing in mind i strarted attending games reguarly in 2000 and onwards)

It would be possible, but would mean a large re-work of The boulevard.

What would be much better sense wise would be to extend the grange line down along the esplanade and then onto westlakes shopping center - but thats just as hard.

We should get this guy to build Adelaide a monorail from the Port Adelaide line down West Lakes Boulevard to AAMI Stadium

I hate the footy express. The fact they expected people to pay over $8 last year to stand for 1.5 hours to get to a football game was a joke.

I used it as well on Saturday...
Going there was ok but coming home was a frigging joke! It was like trying to herd cattle with the amount of people wanting to get on buses. I live near Glenelg and the bus i had to catch was in the same area as about 4 others so trying to work out which bus to get on, then getting through the people who didnt want that bus was a nightmare...

Surely there is a better way to organise it, like having seperate lines for the different buses...

The people running it couldnt organise a you know what in Stormy Summers joint!

I'll be taking the car again from now on...i've got a good spot to park which gets me out quick! :thumbsu:

That's bullshit.

I would have thought having an optional levy on season tickets for if you intended to use the Footy Express would be a better option. Instead of charging people who have absolutely ZERO intention of using the "service." I.e, charge people who want to use it 30 bucks extra on their season ticket, getting them 11 return trips to AAMI. Just like there is the Gold Membership option, have a Footy Express option. It isnt rocket science.

I live in Salisbury North, and for us it's far quicker driving than catching the bus. Quite often, we pass Footy Express buses along the Port River Expressway, so by the time the bus gets to Salisbury North Oval (then drive home from there anyway), we've probably saved 20 minutes by driving ourselves.

We also went to the Centrals v Port game Saturday night - we got to Hamra Homes Oval at 6, FX buses were arriving during the first quarter (the game started at 6:30).

From personal experiences of using FX, it's arrived at AAMI Stadium as much as 40 minutes later than scheduled.

Having said that, Adelaide's public transport system is a joke, so what can we expect with FX. Until Torrens Transit is stripped of its contracts, the bus network will always be a mess.

Driving will always be superior to FX, no matter how much they slug us in levies.
