yeh would have 2 b about lucas. i wouldnt think he would ask for a 3 year deal. they should give him 2 tho. no doubt about that

Lucas will happily sign a 1 or possibly 2 year contract. He isn't stupid and will know the club won't offer him 3.

Well I was right. They brought up Fletcher and Michael aswell. In reality, there is no reason why players cant sign 1 year contracts. The club still want them, so if they play well during their contract (which they will because its Lucas and Fletcher) then they will be offered another contract next season.

I dont see a problem with a 2 year deal for Lucas. He's a star, and salary cap will not be an issue as most of our players are under 22 and at that age, dont even takeup half of what say a 28 year old family-man does.

I hope Essendon give Scotty a two year deal........I think they may be a bit cautious about his knee though imo

The players need Lucas to play for a minimum of 2 yrs after this yr.
