Hi all,

Check out www.footydraft.com for updated selections at the draft. Which picks (at this stage) will we have? What picks do all the clubs have in the first round (we might be able to trade for say a pick9, 10 or 11)?

Picks 1, 3, 19, 35 (father son if taken), 51, 67

So Ellis, Clarke (god i hope not), White, Heise (or prehaps Tomi Johnson), Thomas, pass according to the mock draft at this point.

What I would want: Ellis, Murphy or if gone Hurn, Warnock, Michael West, Grae Grant

Of course I'm not a recruiter or an active under 18 footy watcher so my opinion means nothing.

Exactly my thoughts except i am not convinced with warnock. I would rather pick a Key backman

41. Sam Elliott (South Adelaide)

There is no way he should be drafted that late. If he indeed does get drafted at around this time, the team that picks him will have themselves a steal.

i think we hav to trade to get another top 10 pick like the hawks did last year. the tigers also managed to get 5 top 20 picks. we should try to do that this year.

I don't like what ifs. What if we trading all our picks away for Chris Judd? What if that new investigation into player payments reveals mass cap cheating among our enemies handing us pick 1,2,3,4,5,6,7? Or take away our top two picks again?

Who knows?

That said with another top 10 pick, say 8-10, I'd want to pick up Drum.

all im saying is that we should try and get as many first round picks as we can by trading players like houlihan, scotland and unfortunately lappin and whitnal. this will also free up our salary cap a bit.

It's not exactly a good year for drafting. Next year I'd say go for it but this years crop is a little questionable.

theres no way of knowing that until we see play in the next couple of years. even if that is the case we might aswell try and get the best of an 'average draft'.

dont write off this years draft, it pretty even bunch, i reckon there is some real gems amongst them.
consensus is that u could get a real gem with a l8e pick.
standouts imo.........4 what that is worth

ryder
ellis
hurn
kennedy
lucy
looby
speculative picks late
sugars
bode

3 tall west australian boyz have huge upside imo ryder and kennedy the best

all three west aussie boyz will go top 10, personally not sold on clarke (only seen him in under 18 championships) but is a huge talent.
