For the first time in 5 years the Carlton football club has a real opportunity to get some quality players in the off season.

Num 1 - We need a CHB why not go for Polak he is only 22 and has a lot talent hopefully we can get himin the pre - season draft or a trade.

Num 2 - We need a ruckmen Michael Gardinar we can trade a 4th or 5th round draft pick for him we won't lose much.

and likely we have pick 1,17,19. Lets hope the carlton fooball club do their job in the off season.

i don't think we could take two bad oys in Polak and Gardiner. Only one. Personally i would take Polak. A lot of talent and only 22

Neither! Both are headcases and Polak can't kick.

Why haven't you learnt from our mistakes?

We gave up pick 52 for a good character in Saddington last year and Gardiner's knees are probably just as bad. He'll end up having to be rested in the forward line because he can't ruck full time and he'll get in the way of Waite, Fev and Kennedy.

We're going for kids from now on anyway. :)

yeah but i think Polak could still be considered a youngster. Only 22. From what ive seen of him he is a good mark and could be that floating pack player in the backline.

Would not be upset if we didn't get him, but i think he is worth a chance

Well if players like Davis, Gardiner, Polak and Everitt enter the PSD, who would we take assuming we have pick 1.

Surely because Polak is young, has a lot of potential and plays a postion that we have a lack of players in, i think he is best

Doesn't read the play. Can't kick. Is so pepped up on goofballs he's spends most of his time in the reserves.

No thanks.

Polak would be good for you guys. His field kicking is decent. We just have KPP in front of him right now in Johnson, Pavlich, McPharlin and Murphy.

Polak reads the play well also. When he was 19 and played a lot loose, he was #2 in the AFL in contested marks. Would mark anything that came near him. Obviously has talent... might need a change of environment.

I hope we won't trade him... too much talent and development gone into him to give up cheaply.

thought we did that last year when we finished dead last. picks 1 and 4 last year for memory when we took murphy and kennedy.

gardinar? yeh! lets bring angwin back too! jk. if they start playing bryan and another ruckman as they did today we could be all right in the ruck department

Getting Gardiner is as good as getting another priority pick IMO. He's a GUN ruckman that's still in his prime. If things work out, he still has a good 5 seasons left in him. I don't want to finish last, but to get Gibbs and Gardiner with our respective 'number one' picks would make a huge difference towards improving our deficiencies.

If anyone heard Pagan's press conference today, you probably noticed Denis hinting at recruiting Gardiner. I liked it...

And Gardiner is nothing like Angwin. Angwin gets high on his own supply. As far as I know, Gardiner keeps his nose clean.

Is all of this post a joke?

Recruiting Gardiner and Polak would be the wrong move to make and putting those two clowns together is a recipe for disaster.

Good judges say Polak can't kick so why would he bother recruiting him?

To team up with Fisher and Waite? :D

Its all hypothetical anyway;

If we want either one of Polak or Gardiner were going to have to offer a pick, these goons wont go into the PSD unless they're delisted - which wont happen because other clubs would want they're services (ala Port Adelaide).

For the first time in 5 years we shouldn't be joyous about having a chance to pick up some great kids.

Our boys need to have a look at their season and look at what chances they've missed out on.

Denis I still feel is the man, but he's got to get agro at these kids. Kernahan should be putting a few players over his knee and giving them a good ole fashion spanking.

Our boys need a good ole fashioned wake up call.

Afraid not, my friend.

I'm more keen for Gardiner right now than I was last year with Hurn. I already gave my reasons for wanting Gardiner, but here's a couple more points: He's 27! That's the prime age for a ruckmen. He's an All Australian. He's a former number 1 pick, and he's happy to come to Victoria.

Our ruck stock are pretty weak at the moment, but they're young, and they have room for improvement. But until then, we need someone who can give our young midfield first use at the clearances. I don't know about you guys, but I'm interested to see what Murphy, Blackwell, Bentick, and Gibbs ;) can do on the end of some quality tap-outs.

There's too many things wrong with our list at the moment. But one of the big deficiencies that goes unnoticed is our ruck work. We could see ourselves with an opportunity to correct this problem without giving away anything. And if we don't take this opportunity, Essendon will. That's a double slap in the face! :o

We should move heaven and earth to get Meeson in a trade or the PSD now that Deluca has resigned.

Not Gardiner!

Ryder, Hille, Bradley, Laycock, Gardiner?

Why do they need him?
