Tom Hanks at his best.
I think forrest gump easily surpasses them, it's real genius.

if you mean "not nearly as good" as opposed to "way better than", then I definately agree.
Gump is not a patch on the Shawshank Redemption.
absolutely love gump. seen it too many times though, so a little tired of it.
I can see why people would enjoy Forrest but I just don't think it can be compared with the other two. Pulp and Shawshank are 'great' whilst Gump is 'good.' I rate Pulp and Shawshank in my top 5 of all time whilst Forrest Gump would struggle to make my top 50.

That's the annoying thing. People hate this film because of it. I agree that this film is no where near either of them but this is still a quality film IMO. Unfairly treated because of the oscar.

Because it's a Pro-USA love fest.
Its a great film. Cant understand how anyone can knock it when its so well made and pretty moving too. Its a completely different film to pulp fiction and shawshank redemption, all three are quality

It's also a nostalgia fest. I refuse to watch any movie with Tom Hanks in it. Just loathe him. His career went seriously down hill after Bachelor Party. Big and Splash I guess were okay.

As a massive film buff, Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump are two extremely mediocre films. Same goes for The Great Escape.
Just because you watch and know alot about movies doesnt necessarily mean i should care about your opinion.
Pulp Fiction is a master piece and easily in my top 5 of all time. I love Shawshank Redemption and do think it is better the FG but not as good as PF.
