dunno about that.
if Geelong can fit all their side in the cap - Carlton would still have space you would imagine
I dunno...
Fev
Judd
Stevens
These 3 would (should) all be on $500,000+ per year with Judd and Fev closer to the millions mark
Houlihan
Thorton
Waite
These 3 would have be earning anywhere between $300,000-$500,000 you would think
They then have to sign on Gibbs, Murphy and Kruezer. These boys (espeacially the first two) would be looking for $200,000+ contracts.
Add Warnock to this with $300,000+ as year and these 9 players would be earning $3,000,000-$4,500,000 between them.
I don't know how large a salary cap is but this looks awfully suss to me. Add to this players like Betts, Fisher, etc who have all been the best 22 for 2 or 3 years and it's starting to look really suss. In comparison to Richmond I would imagine the only players who would be earning over $300,000 a year would be Richo (veteran), Brown, Bowden (veteran?), Deledio,McMohan and Simmonds and maybe Johnson on the borderline. Players on the borderline would probabably include Tuck, Newman, Raines, Cogs, Foley (signed before his last breakout season).
Our young blokes would are the ones that are going to take this club to a premiership would all be on fairly small to average wages in Moore (big extention after this year though), Thurstfield, McGuane (both of whom would be on significantly larger contracts then last years), Tambling, Conners, Riewoldt, White, etc.
Geelong have made a pact between their players to try and win as much premierships as they can and therefore have lower then their market worth.
