It's been awhile since i thought about some of the blokes we used to have running around, particuarly in the late nineties. Just was after some thoughts on some guys who i have fond memories of hating so passionately...feel free to remind me of others.

John Rombotis... don't even want to discuss him

Ben Moore... Have no idea what happened to him. when i first started to get into footy bout '95 he was my favourite player behind campbell, richo and daffy...i miss daffy :( please come back Nick

Sziller... i hated him so much at st kilda, when we got him i was so shattered. Was then i realised we had troubles.

Clay Sampson...Actually really liked Sampson myself. Thought he was going to be awesome, can't even remember what happened to him.

Biddiscombe & Houlihan...first 2 players taken out of my AFL2003(i think) team everytime. Hated geelong ever since brownless and Ablett in the 95 prelim...:o

Ben Marsh...not even that long ago, but see sziller

Simon Fletcher...why did this ever happen? I'd rather a stick in the eye

Brett Evans...i remember thinking him and richo would be the ultimate partnership :o

Just remembered Stephen Jurica...sigh

Here's a trivia question about Ben Moore...

What was so special about his first two kicks in the AFL?

You forgot to add Justin Plapp, he of the huge leap from behind whilst playing in the ressies! Guess we got St Kilda back for Sziller there (though Sziller had one ok year with us it must be said).

What about Adam 'the gloved one' Slater!

Or Todd Menegola, who was so bad that he couldn't make it onto Freo's first ever list of 60 odd players!

Tim Powell and Peter Keays were great for us all the players that you have Mentioned were duds except for Birdman evans tuff player still going around for NarreWarren.Chris Bond was a great pick up for us aswell.

AHHH yeah....Wayne "f*****" Hernamen!!!!!

What about this list of rejects from around the same time - some of which we drafted but never arrive.

John Peter-Budge, John Mrakov, Shane Fell, Athos Hyrosloukas (yep...I spelt it wrong no doubt), Terry Keays.

And of course in earlier times, a pair of duds from Footscray in Chris Burton and Michael McKenna!!

Let the good times roll on!

Craig Ednie. Foley actually reminded me of him when he arrived at the club. Lucky Foley can run and kick though.

Where do you start and end though thru the 80s and 90s. Our list would be more impressive than any other club

he had ticker.

:) PROBABLY the epitome of what has been wrong with our great club in the past 20 years.
The only guys with any "grunt and that bit of mongrel" in them are our smaller guys, like Weightman, Free, Powell and Foley.
Ohh to have had a big guy who could show the way!!

It's terry keays and he loved himself more than he loved football.

Went home and captained his original SANFL club, South Adelaide.

As an aside, it's worth remembering that blokes like Ablett Snr, Lockett, Flower, Skilton, Stynes, Kelly, Buckley, Harvey, Primus, Richo and Modra have never tasted the ultimate success for all the service they've given to their clubs and the game.

Ben Marsh...not even that long ago, but see sziller

I was at his debut match for us - vs. Sydney, 1998 - went away thinking I'd witnessed the second coming of Jeff White. Was quick, mobile, strong, terrific vision and awareness, the works.

10 disposals, 5 marks, 3 goals and 17 hitouts playing second fiddle to Rehn.

Was all downhill from there though - was utterly amazed when you blokes picked him up.

royce vardy

i remember someone saying before his debut that he was "the next royce hart"

aaron james- could never stand him. biggest joke ever.
i've heard a rumour hes been suspended for something like 3-4years after going nuts at an umpire or at the tribunal or something
