Hi guys, i was just wandering if anyone remembers a Pies-Bulldogs game at Waverley back in the early to mid '90s. It was my first game and remember it ending in a draw when Monkey missed a set shot from about 45 after the siren.
Obviously it was a long time ago and my memory of it might not be that clear and might not have panned out the way i said.
Does anyone else remember this?

IIRC, it was 1995, because I seem to remember having two draws that year, with the other one being the ANZAC Day Game.

I don't remember Monkey missing a set shot after the siren, although that could be the case.

However, I do remember that that day, Dermie kicked a ball square through the behinds from right on the goal line and he was given a goal for it.

This thread is on our board too, so hope you don't mind me posting here.

Monkey certain did miss a set shot, although i'm not sure it was after the siren.

Dermie did kick a behind that was given a goal. Also, Osbourne kicked one out on the full for us that was given a behind.

The year was 95.

And as usual, it was a bitterly cold windy **** of a day at Waverley.

Argh my first game was a loss against the kangas '96* I'm guessing. Had seats in the first row of level 2.

*Could easily be 94 or 95.

My first game was Sydney vs Freo in 1999. Needless to say the shockers got killed. The saw Brisbane beat the shockers, as we got free tickets to that in 2001, but I saw Collingwood beat the Shockers in 2004. We knocked them out of the finals by winning that game.

I have to go back to 1986.:)

My first game was the imfamous Gubby Allen kicking across goal to an unmarked Simon Beasley who poped it through and broke a young boys heart which has scarred me (and de sensitised me) for life as a Collingwood supporter.

Also featured the Dennis Banks goes horizontal mark for memory.

My first AFL game was Adelaide vs. Richmond at AAMI stadium, I had relatives in Adelaide and my grandfather was a Richmond supporter. I was like 8 or younger and I wasn't into football very much at all back then despite being a Collingwood supporter. It was a boring match and I can remember leaving early and falling asleep on the way home. It would of been 1993-94 or so.

My first Collingwood match was when we were in Melbourne for a holiday from Tasmania. It was a Melbourne vs. Collingwood match at the G. The next year I went to another Melb vs. Collingwood game, I don't remember if it was the first game or the 2nd game but Gary Lyon was meant to be playing some milestone game. They had a banner made for him but Lyon pulled out of the match late so they had no banner.

Since this thread is now about "1st games" my very 1st game was Fitzroy V Carlton as a 1 year old, but the 1st game i remember, Tony Shaws last game when we played against the kangaroos, we got hammered and the horse kicked about 8. The 90s was a long long long decade
