miller and wallace drafted so many players that arent much good yet they keep them on the list for years in the hope that they may miraculously turn it around. they kept getting small skinny down hill skiers, low skilled and small mobile kpp with no possibility to build a team around them.

Yeah it was such a great post wasn't it, talking about tanking for the next 2 years 4 games into this season. This board has officially lost the plot

totally agree. talking about tanking now is the biggest joke ever. how quickly richmond supporters can change there outlook. i admit there is plenty of evidence but surely this is the time we need to get behind our team, rather than wish for 2 years of tanking.
also trading kelvin moore would be a huge mistake. a good player for us and has plenty of talent. big fan

On current form we won't have to tank to get those high picks the next 2 years. Add to that, the loss of Richo Bowden Brown Johnson Simmonds either this season or next (and probably Cousins as well) how are we going to replace that production and experience. Newman Tuck McMahon and Pettifer aren't a patch on those senior guys.

The fact the current coaching panel has stagnated he development of so many of young players could make us a bigger basket case than Melb and Freo. Nor do we have the star talent to match the top 4 sides. A new coaching team will have its job cut out to change that.

To be honest can any of you say they believe a new coach, even if he is the next Clarkson, can turn the likes of Tambling, Edwards, JON, Connors, Raines etc into elite or top tier players.

It is sad to say that Wallace's attempts to match the game plans of the top teams and the drop off in form of most of our senior players has exposed the deficiencies of our list and probably set us back another 3-5 years in our vain attempts to be a competitive force again.

Spud was a dud but at least he gave us a year of finals footy as unsustainable as it was....Wallace hasn't even been able to manage that.

Yes on Conners. At least he has the tools to be a very good player.

The problem is you are underestimating how poor the other teams will be over the next couple of years, mainly Freo and Melbourne. 3 teams bottoming out at once will clog up the "fight" for priority picks this year, and next. I have Melbourne down for the #1 priority pick, thus Butcher will be gone. Melbourne will prob be on the rise next year, but Freo will still be crap and will prob net a priority pick for next year (ala #4) so it is HIGHLY unlikely that you could get #4 and $6 in the GC draft.
