After watching the last 2 games at TD, what a contrast.
St Kilda & Geelong,
You would have had to pay me to watch this game...wait, they did, but im demanding double time. What a dud of a game. The Saints couldnt, wouldnt kick a goal, no forward structure, just bomb it in and hope for the best. Wrong. Good bye Coach.
Then the contrast.
Swans v Richmond.
(Apart from the mark of the day by Pettifer (Spg?), hang time was incredible) the interest was the Swans forward set up which was quite interesting.
No Flanks, No Pockets at the centre bounce. The Americans would describe as an "I" formation - all players in line to goal square to centre square.
and straight down the corridor when they get the ball or just to left or right of centre, which ever way the player peels off.
Swans D was dictated by Richmond forwards but looked like a T formation. Across the line to centre square then down the middle.. Interesting I didnt see the obligatory player dropped back to make a 7 man Swan D.
Great to see so many goals scored. Admittably poor old Richmonds D wasnt up to the task but still the Swans did it beautifully.
