Great news. One assumes that the club sees potential in these lads. Good to hear that they are a tight knit bunch. It is weird talking about the new group given we have used to Roo, Kosi, Ball etc. That era is truly over. Now the kids can form their own pact and not live in the shadows of the fore mentioned players.

We forget that the retiring era was gifted to us based on years of mediocrity and other clubs cheating.

Some good points there:thumbsu: . Most of the really strong clubs ( Syd, Hawks, Cats ) "Built" their strong teams mostly with shrewd draft pics and trades, and good inner development. Not just from bottoming out and picking up early draft pics.
Will be very interesting to see how quickly we can rebuild our list. The future is a little bit scary but exciting at the same time.

Father/son picks helped a bit as well.

Sure is different dynamics this time around because the last lot were all #1 and #2 picks etc. So with that comes a fair bit of hype and expectation. Just goes to show that if your development program is crap, then talent doesn't count for much.

I have always had a begrudging respect for Essendon under Sheedy and how they always managed to develop well.

I'd remove the Hawks from that list, they had as many priority picks as we did.
