Foxtel replay

Just watching it now, and it isn't a full replay they are cutting it! :thumbsd: Another reason the new TV rights suck ass.

Haven't been watching it but find that odd. They have 2.5 hrs scheduled for it which is more than enough time to fit it in. Cut out the pre game, halftime and post game crap and they should piss it in.

Don't forget Naked and Funny on channel 121 at 10.30:D

There was a patch in the first quarter where in was in our forwardline next thing I knew Bassett had it in defence! Haven't noticed one since maybe its a one off....

I know for a fact the midweek replays are cut to shreds.

I IQ'd it, just started watching about 10 minutes ago - I was wondering what the hell you were talking about ;)

Wonder if Gibbs will get cited for the charge on Massie?

They cut about a minute and a half in the first quarter... have you never watched a replay on Fox before? They do it all the time.

I hardly think it's worth complaining about the rights though - it's not like the FTA stations ever showed same day replays (excluding the delayed telecast of simultaneous matches), uncut or otherwise.

Enjoying Moran's game on replay, even the commentators are pumping him up.

After watching the Porplyzia replay a few times could it be possible that Thornton and Browne had constructed that hit? It looked way too planned to be a labelled an accident. Or am I looking at this through tri colour glasses?

Time will tell.

It will be looked at by the tribunal as the player went off on the stretcher.

IMO if your allowed to ricochet an opposition player onto one of your players and claim it was accident and then hit him high, well hmmmm I can see this ploy being used by other teams.

The carlton players targeted Porps, it was dirty and cheap even well before the incident. I would never want our players to ever do that.

At carlton that kind if crap is considered fair game.

Everybody loves a conspiracy theory.

Obviously I do too because the very same thought crossed my mind after watching it again on Foxtel tonight. :D

Porplyzia was charged into by Thornton way off the ball, and then Browne is either blind or deliberately ran through Porps.

I'd like to see the incident from the other side rather than the back to see where Browne's eyes were looking and what his right hand was doing.

Because Porps's shoulder had been targeted all the time that he was on the ground, it's hard to believe that it was just an accident.

Is it a directive from the heirarchy at Adelaide to not do that niggling shit that all the other teams seem to love. We cop it a fair bit but don't ever seem to repay the favours.
Eg. at the beggining of the game you never see our players target their opponent by hitting known injuries and the like.

Not sure if you caught it Mac, but the last replay they showed on the Fox coverage tonight was enough for me. Only just in frame, but it wasn't good at all.

The incident was so perfect for Carlton's cause that it makes me think that they knew what they were doing. It's not like Browne did anything to aviod the contact either:rolleyes:

And as you mentioned a camera from the other direction would be great so we can see what Browne did with his fist. Can't really see it being taken any further but a good review of the incident is needed.

*Shakes head* when they had fox footy replays were never cut up.

The hits on Porps did look semi-accidental.

I don't think the second guy meant to hit him, but when he realised he was going to run into him, he braced himself - both to hit Porps hard, but also to protect himself.

Personally - I don't think the guy should get anything.

BUT

All of the headhigh hits (take Burton's as the example, or even Burgoynes) are accidental, but they still result in suspension; so, based on the context of the tribunal, he should get suspended.

The standard of AFL coverage is a fcukin joke.

The quality and quantity is abysmal to say the least.

Channel 7 do not deserve the rights, I get so irate when the coverage starts at 830pm on Friday nights, I have not once watched a delayed game for its entirety without checking the score and then switching off !

I miss watching live AFL football !

Dont even get me started on the commentary or camera angles !

If only there was more choices available to view the game !

I always thought it was against the rules (and reckless) to push a player into another player. That is what happened. Porps got pushed into Brown. Once pushed he was a passenger after he hit Browns shoulder.

Nothing will come of it though.

Carlton were going at Porps at evey stoppage, testing his shoulder. I guess in the end they got their man. Worst club in the league in terms of cheats.

I agree nothing will come out of it, but it should. It would have been accidental only if Porp's chin had hit Browne's LEFT shoulder, but it was the right shoulder. For Porps to hit Browne's right shoulder when running in the same direction and on Browne's left side, hit it so hard to be knocked out, could only happen if Browne made a sharp turn at the waist as in the act of sticking his fist in Porp's stomach, face or shoulder.
If you look at the replay, you'll see it very clearly. Will the review panel see it? They will not want to, I'm sure.

They cut a little bit out of each game to fit it into 2 hours on the replay. Accounting for ads in between each quarter, they probably cut about 5-8 minutes worth of junk each game.

Happened in the showdown when Port peppered the goals in the 3rd quarter, they cut out about 5 minutes and about 4 behinds from that.

I record every Port game and put it on DVD and yeah...copping the replay instead of the live telecast can be a bit annoying.
