To get your pass, dial #820# with your compatible Telstra mobile and follow the prompts.

Then you'll get a SMS with links to select either an AFL or a NRL pass

You must be on a consumer or small business Telstra post-paid mobile plan.

One 2016 Footy Pass per customer (NRL or AFL). Redeem offer by 31 December 2016 using your compatible Telstra mobile on the Telstra mobile network. Pass expires 31 January 2017.

Had no problem signing up, you can even use the link they give you on the SMS in a web browser if you don't want to use your phone (this is what I did).

If you've already paid for it there's info about getting a refund on the Telstra link as well.

I've signed up ok, but when trying to access any Live Pass content it doesn't seem to work. Will try again later, maybe it takes some time to register properly

Worked ok for me, and I was able to turn off my App Store subscription before it ticks over in March.
Make sure you log in with your Telstra email address and password (not your Apple /Google one).

That's what I've done, I've tried logging into the iOS app on my iPad mini, my Windows Phone app and also the webpage using my laptop. In all three cases, when I go to the section to manage my Live Pass it shows up, but when accessing the actual content it says I need to subscribe.

Perhaps the fact you already had an account active makes a difference

That's what I'm doing with the app. It doesn't log you out, so you don't have to keep logging in.

The other benefit with Telstra is it doesn't count towards your data, but if you're on home wifi it doesn't really matter

If you know what you are doing you can also watch on tablets and a smarttv or even stream from a tablet to your TV hello its the same as paying 50 bucks to Foxtel.
