No more delisting by any club, so only 6 picks in the PSD.

With the lack of trades and picks in the PSD this year, the AFLPA will be going all out to introduce some form of free agency in the future. Time to lock up our young players and cash up for any opportunities as it could come in around the time our window opens

I don't get free agency; won't it turn trade week into "we'll offer you X dollars, come here. We'll give them a third round pick for you (i.e. Daniel Kerr)", and then the WCE in that case, wouldn't get a say in it?

Basic idea is that the picks received would match up with the $'s paid.

The price for each pick would be the contentious issue though...As would the fact that it'd mean the contracts would be effectively public knowledge. There would also need to be provision for contract changes and the like, possibly involving picks from later years being involved.

AFLPA wants it to be 'player can go where he wants, regardless' and ignore the tough details. AFL just wants to avoid it because it'd be really nasty....Eg. last year, what price ( just in picks ) do you put on Judd? What if he'd wanted to go to Geelong...I'm sure WCE wouldn't have been thrilled with picks 16/33/49/55/71 & 87.

I like the AFLPA, but don't like this idea...
Keep it as is I say.

If all our players were out of contract as of now, and we had to secure 10 of them, then I'd give priority, in no particular order, to:
Cotchin
Deledio
Newman
Riewoldt
Foley
Thursfield
Moore
Morton
Tambling
Vickery
