When free agency hits do you think we will get any good players? If so how many of these players do you think will kick often on their non prefered ? Or do you think the game gas changed too much for that?

If my understanding is correct it comes in at the end of next year and only 10 year players can walk to the club of their choice??

If that's the case anyone from the 2002 draft or before is a potential target. Goddard would be the best target given his age (26 atm) and the fact the Saints might fall in a hole.

A good promising year for Richmond next year could be crucial in terms of attracting big names.

Anyway my wish list is:

Goddard
Leuenberger
Dangerfield

I can dream.:(:(

Nice to see the big grin next to the thread instead of a frown :thumbsu:

A couple of years ago we would've been dreading the thought of free-agency due to the circumstances our club was in on and off field.

Thanks to the current group of people involved in the RFC we can hopefully attract a big name rather than facing the chance of having our own poached.

There are categories for players having completed 7, 8 and 10 years of service. I think the 8 year and not in the top 10 highest paid at the club and the 10 year players are the ones who can automatically go to the club of their choice without their former club being allowed to match any offers.

To be honest this kicking thing is over rated, lets face kicking causes all sorts of problems , we have clangers, "leg" injuries, if they didnt have to kick with their non prefered leg these things would be halved and almost eliminated if they didnt have to kick at all:cool:

I agree with alot of your comments NT but you simply can't hand pass a goal as it would be labelled a behind if you did leaving the side 5 points down on what could of been 6.

Maybe if the players were made to wear a high vis sock on their non prefered and every time they kicked with it they received bonus supercoach and dream team points. Maybe the team gets a 9 point super goal if they kick one with their non preferred .

Im not so sure about not being able to handpass a goal, has anyone tried?

I always thought that hitting the goal posts was a point too.

Until some one tries to handpass a goal and its not paid then complains and is not awarde a goal then your point is moot.

Interesting concept there TRT...we now have 3 field umpires, 4 boundary umpires, 2 goals umpires with an electronic 3rd on the way, we have an interchange steward and of course the substitute crap. Now we can have a team sheet lodged with the "non preferred steward", which has each players "preferred" marked before the game and when the goal umpire, or the 3rd goal umpire signals a goal, the "non preferred steward" steps onto the gorund with his arms in the air, if the player kicked it with their "non preferred". Add another couple of lame jobs to the list of jobs and as i said in another thread, 42 on a list, 38 coaches coaching that list, 44 players on the field with 25 officials umpiring. Yep Andy and the fools at the AFL sure know how to run the comp. They cant run a ****ing bath FFS. ;)

I'm pretty sure Joel Bowden would have tried it at some point :D

Oh wait, other end of the ground

Can always count on Rusty to bring the big issues to the fore, that's for sure.
