The AFL has problems with restriction of trade so free agent/restricted free agent can't be touched unless they want to go to court.

In my mind the game needs to grow up.

I don't care where Lynch goes for this discussion but I find the hoopla disgusting.

Why would you ask why players say nothing over a season as to if they are going when you see what happened to Lynch? Coaches have said they wouldn't play someone if they've said they are going somewhere else.

To be ostracized as Lynch was sent a message to the playing group but I'd argue that a player of eight years and voted as captain wanting to go said more about the club and no respect for the player.

Time to grow up.

As a club you can do your best in regards culture and working environment and even then you have to give way to personal choices of a player.

Dusty was talked to by North in season - shock horror v Lynch.

If he had decided North you couldn't argue his effort for us while he was playing.

How narrow minded are clubs when they write off players.

Utilising their talent for that year and/or bringing others on under their tutelage.

If you have a more open discussion within a club and understanding and respect for each other then I just don't get this emotional outburst.

Clubs/fans need to get over the hysteria message.

Good luck to where ever Lynch goes but let's put a stop to the humiliating disgrace that Lynch went through.

I agree clubs are way to precious here , I’m a believer in the players association stance that fa eligibility should be reduced to 6y to expand the pool and greater movement. This would benefit the emerging clubs with fat wallets with big gaps in the TPP. If clubs are in right place at right time it could really help them jump a number of rung on the ladder . Right now there are too few options and by and large they remain with existing club
