Was Matthew Scarlett being serious about wearing a Geelong jumper and getting free drinks? Should head down for a beer to celebrate.

I actually said when he said that that i'd hate to work there cause every man and his dog is going to quote him when they walk through the door

I thought something similar. Surely some people would have taken it serious.

Was just hilarious when Ling almost fell off the back of the (enclosed) stage when Scarlo said it.

Sorry guys, I wasnt there. Just read it in the paper so I was unaware of the context in which it was said. Someone told me Lingy was shouting the bar on Saturday night as well so when I read Scarletts quote I didnt think it sounded that rediculous hence why I was just asking.

Speaking of the parade, after hearing the mayor speak it's got me stuffed how we won the flag!

I hadn't heard the Mayor speak before. Not impressed. It was all about him. Had to be reminded by Ling to thank the people. I know who was more statesman like.
Scarlo was funny. I wasn't quite sure what he would say next.

Must have been hard for him to swallow the crowds adulation for the players and having the premiership cup being continually waved before his eyes being a Carlton supporter. Come to think of it how the f#*k did a Carlton supporter get to be elected Mayor:confused:

I didn't know he was a Carlton supporter, guess it now makes sense why he brought up Carlton of '95 and compared them to Geelong 2011 with both being labelled too old and slow. Only difference is that Geelong aren't over the salary cap champ.

Also said that after the R21 game versus Adelaide we looked slow so Scott subsequently made some tactical changes. NFI.

Furthermore, Collingwood were the best team all year (hello, Geelong beat them three times).

Lastly, he couldn't help but blow his own trumpet about how he tipped Geelong to win by 30 points.

Part of the reason he was elected Mayor could be that in his ward he was the only candidate to stand in the last council election!
