All I ask for is at least a half arsed attempt at consistency. That block called against us early... fair enough... if you call it the other way too.

McCartin blocked Astbury just as obviously halfway through the second and the umpire didn’t even think about it.

This is where i am at. dusty got tackled to the ground well after the ball left the play, no free yet the same was paid against nank. Go figure.

I have no problems with frees paid against us. None.
It’s the apparently very low number of infringements against us that is alarming.
It seems our opposition play a very clean game week in week out.

Every team bemoans the ones they don’t get, there is no conspiracy however I find it amusing that the rub of the green goes against us so much. Still if we tackle smarter so we don’t fall in the opponents back and take the first option more then the FA will reduce.

I would love to know how many goals we concealed on score review this season.
I don't have a problem with frees against if they are there but it goes both ways.
The amount of frees we don't get is alarming.

4-15 down when the saints were 11 points up. That combined with the farcical goal review was why they were leading.

No surprise we got back into the game once the whistle was blown every now and then.

Seriously speaking though we play on the edge so yes we are going to get some free kicks against but it’s the ones which they don’t pay us but pay the opposition. There is no consistency. It’s so god damn frustrating!!

That's exactly how I felt. Had to leave the ground I was so pissed off.

That in itself is no cool - not that I'm special, but that any fan gets to that point.
It was early in the third when we took a mark at the city end, D50. The Stains player who manned the mark did so from behind (often not allowed), at least 5 metres over the mark, and on the angle cutting off the pass to the middle. Now that is exactly what the tighter interpretation that we were on the wrong end of 5-6 times in round 1 is supposed to prevent, but against us, it's play on??
I'm normally very quiet at the game but I was absolutely going ****ing apeshit. Had to compose myself by getting the hell out of the building.

90% against us are correct we just dont get the return, holding the man against Moore when it was clearly two players both holding each other went against us, then at the other end it happened again and again it went against us.

We also seem to be the only team that gets 50's rule applied, most times Im left wondering what yhe 50's are for, even the hit on Jack didnt earn us a fifty, even though the player was reported for a late hit?

I was closely watching Callum Moore all day.
He got blocked, sheparded, pushed...for nothin.
That’s ok, but consistency is crucial.

There was one I think in Q4 (or Q2..City end)where the saints player just blocked him from the ball...McGuire thought it was in the back...FFS.

We definitely haven't got the rub of the green in any of our matches so far 10 rounds in, but their is no doubt our high intensity and pressure on the ball carrier is going to give away the odd free kick but we didn't have much tackles today.. some frees kicks against us today were laughable.

I've watched 4 games now this weekend and I'm telling you, the frees we give away are a 50% less chance to be paid in any other game.

Blocking ? We get pinged all the time. Hardly seen it paid in other games despite it happening regularly. Ditto the protected zone. Ditto being a foot over the mark. Two players holding onto one another like Moore today ? You can guarantee he'll be the one penalised. Less than certain goal decisions on the line or being touched off the boot ? How many despite being less than 100% clear have gone against us ? Nearly all.

It's out of control. Something's going on behind the scenes. Either other teams have gone to the AFL to look at us more closely than others or we're bagging them out behind the scenes or something, but whatever, something is just not right with the umpiring of our games.

I've never had reason to whinge about umpiring but these last 2 years have been insane and it's getting worse.
