Of late i have gained great satisfaction out of defeating the hawks mainly due to there one of the few teams that are our bitches and the anger that flared when we snared McPharlin and Croad.
So the up coming game, its probally a bit early but who do people think will be in and who will be out.

I would suggest that Headland will make a return and hopefully either Parker of McPharlin.
I believe haselby should be rested and Pavlich probally deserves a rest depending on if McPharlin makes the side.

A victory over there would be vital so I would suggest that Conolly will be taking this game pretty seriously.

Hasleby said he will be playing. Pavlich definitely won't and I don't think Headland or McPharlin will be either. Parker might, I'm not sure.

Pavlich wont play , I beleive Hasleby should be rested , Headland will play , Carr will be back, Parker will get a run . The rest a mystery. If there are mild conditions CC will pick the strongest available team.

Record since 1995: Hawthorn 9 - Fremantle 4
Record since 2001: Hawthorn 2 - Fremantle 2
Our bitches????

McPharlin yes, Croad no. Croad was traded (for a youngster called Hodge, you may have heard of him).

Vital??? A completely meaningless practice game? I don't think anyone could give a stuff about the result, so long as their players get through OK. No matter how vital you may think the win is, you wouldn't be thinking that way if Clive redid his knee.

Good luck to both teams.

GH,

I think we'd be pretty silly if we took the dockers lightly tomorrow.

Freo will be looking for any semblence of winning away form this season , so a win in this match is a big deal. Could set us up hopefully to win 2-3 Melbourne games this season

It's not vital if we win or lose (aside from the fact that we will have won an away game), but it's vital how our players go.

We can't really expect to win with 7 or 8 of our top 22 missing.

Our bitches????

I know that's the record but it's fair to say we do do far better against the Hawks than other teams. For example, in 2001, we won the practice game, we barely lost the game at Subi then won our first game of the season in Rd. 18 against the Hawks in Melbourne. Last season, we came very close to an away victory against you guys then flogged you at Subi. Our record has been 11-33 since 2001 so 2-2 against the Hawks is pretty good.

Sabre is still right. Unless that goal post at Glenferrie just blew over all by itself!

After a big lead in the 1st half , we fell away badly but still, but we clung on to the game.

2pts we won by , no more no less but none the less a victory. Last season in the preseason we beat the Lions by 1pt in a Scratchy ........ A question asked willl this game be of any benefit , confidence wise during the season ???

I reckon it will !!, this team thumped the Faeces by 10 smacka's last week & to beat on our travels is great. We will be a better team when we travel to Melbourne next... So we have hope.....

Well done guys - first 20 minutes we were asleep and punished like we should have been.

Croad was dreadful, which we found rather amusing.

Sandilands is going to be an interesting one, he is one big boy.

Thought Browne, Pavlich, and of course Bell were all good.

Funniest part was Farmer attempting to lay a bump on Hay, but getting flipped right over him and landing on his bum!

Standard was rather disappointing though, I think both sides were struggling after the heat of last week.

If you look carefully I believe that CC in lying doggo. All our preseason games have started well and then the experiments begin and if there is a problem the setup at the start is reverted to. (didn't quite work against the E-girls but oh so close).

Watch out Adelaide in Round 1.

Heat is the favourite word of Hawthorn players. When they played in Launceston all Crawford said in his interview before the game was how "hot" it was down there.

Congrats to Freo for winning in Melbourne.

Just read a few reviews from some Hawk fans.

Along with Sandilands beating Everitt and Pavlich doing will in the midfield, they said Grover had a sensational game and Jones played well as well. And Bell had a very good game also.

Don't you support both teams?

As for the Croad saga, admittedly, alot of Hawk fans were against the move, but there was a large faction, including myself that were pro-trade.

Anyway, I did not see Croad chase his opponent hard once all day. What a sublime athete.

Can he pinch this title from Parker??
I guess he can , this guy has been all class since he came onto the scene . So quiet infact , who here knew he was aboriginal ??? He rarely gives interviews , he seems quite happy to sit out of the limelight.

As I said in another thread. I lost a packet of spearment mentos to my cousin who is improving at all times.

Well done to the Dockers.

Luke Toia is very lucky his little lovetap to Rick Ladson was to the blind side of the umps, very clever! ;)

Another one I'm very impressed by is Daniel Haines. I'm kicking myself I didn't take him with a late pick in my fantasy footy draft. He hasn't been mentioned once in the Melbourne media, but he looks to go alright.

Someone on hawkheadquarters.com said Cameron Schwab was sitting behind him yesterday and he mentioned to Neale Daniher that Paul Haselby is one twist away from a serious knee injury!

As we have found out all too often ALL players are 1 twist away from a serious knee injury

Especially at Subiaco because of the hard surface.

Haines is a favourite of mine also. I think he will become a very good player.

Hasleby is one twist away from a serious knee injury? I just read PlayOn's post on HH. As I don't visit HH all that often, is PlayOn a credible source GH? And why on earth would Schwab tell Neale Daniher that!?!?! I must admit, you've got me a bit worried.

It was an interesting read though. I like his thoughts re moving Pavlich to the forward line and telling everyone to clear away!
