we have showed up to play in 2 quarters of footy - both last quarters ie V Carlton and V cats. lets get a reality check. the first 3 quarters V caarlton was average and we dominated the midfield for most of the game V cats but kept coughing it up to their backs with unintelligent ball movement. In both games RTB has Tweaked it at 3Q time. we need the same Tweaking from the start of the game.

I have every reason to be pessimistic tonight, not least of which being the Dcokers lost on my birthday again! I just think we saw a return of the pressure we produced last year, was really impressed by some of our ball movement tonight and thought we looked really sharp at times. You're right of course but this could just be one of those intangibles, just the "vibe" I got from last tonight inspires belief within me.

Also worth mentioning that the Hawks could face us next week without some players who have proved to be serious thorns in recent times, definitely without Gunston and Rioli and now possibly RoughY. Then it's Brissy away and Port at home who look gone for the year, IMO the optimism isn't completely unwarranted.

Whether the performance was down to us lifting for Geelong or a genuine resurgence will be something we find out next week!
Happy Birthday.

Fair point. Umpiring was atrocious and although we've improved we wasted shots in the first quarter and couldn't find a target in the 3rd. We won't beat Hawthorn kicking to Pav or Ballatyne with 3 defenders glued to each of them. This is why Crozier and Duffy were so exciting, able to break a tag bursting through the middle (what Colin was meant to do) and create goal opportunities out of nothing.
